Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. in the chapel at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Greenbrier with Bro. Frank Evans officiating.
Burial followed in Robertson County Memorial Gardens with pallbearers, Ray Holman, Hank Schmitz, Steve Sharber, Keith Self, Shane Rutledge, Bobby Scott, Ricky Scurlock and Tony Pinkelton.
Visitation with the family was held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 9, from 2-9 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 11a.m. until the hour of service.
Mr. Pinkelton was the branch manager for Triangle Fastener Corp. and served his country in the United States Marine Corps.
He graduated from Father Ryan High School and was an active member of the Greenbrier sports community.
Mr. Pinkelton was born in Nashville on Sept. 18, 1969, to Jerry Lee Pinkelton of Nashville and Jennie Warren Pinkelton of Goodlettsville.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Deana Pinkelton; sons, Jestin and Easton Pinkelton and Treavor Thaxton, all of Greenbrier; daughter, Whitley Thaxton of Greenbrier; brother, Tony (Courtney) Pinkelton of Goodlettsville; sister, Mary Beth Pinkelton of Goodlettsville; grandmother, Betty Pinkelton of Nashville and grandfather, Thomas Warren of Ashland City; aunt, Becky Pennington of Goodlettsville; uncles, Michael Warren of Nashville and Mike (Teresa) Pinkelton of Mt. Juliet; father and mother-in-law, Dean and Carolyn Whitley of Greenbrier; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Glynda Shamwell of Greenbrier, Bubba and Lynda Adcox of Greenbrier; longtime friend, Marty Martin; and special nieces, nephews and cousins.

GREENBRIER – When GHS took the field prior to their game against Portland last Friday, freshman Easton Pinkelton led the team onto their home turf.
It was the rest of the Bobcats who were there to back up Easton Pinkelton and the Pinkelton family, just five days after the unexpected loss of 39-year-old Shane Pinkelton (Easton and former teammate Jestin Pinkelton’s father as well as teammate Treavor Thaxton’s step-father) and teammate with a 28-27 overtime win against Portland.
“We’ve had a lot going on as a team, but it’s brought us closer together,” Bobcat Zack Ziegler said. “We were definitely thinking of the Pinkelton family. This week we’ve been talking about just playing for each other. If someone gets knocked down, someone else has to help them up. I think this has made us more of a team.”
Ziegler led GHS with 193 yards on 26 carries and three touchdowns in the contest, which was GHS’s eighth-ever win over Portland and their second in-a-row.
“We definitely had Shane and their family on our minds,” Bobcat Brandon Teel said. “It felt great to get this win.”
