Renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews told Cleveland.com last springhe has seen a sharp increase in youth sports injuries.
"I started seeing a sharp increase in youth sports injuries, particularly baseball, beginning around 2000," Andrews said. “In my practice now, 30 to 40 percent of the ones I'm doing are on high-schoolers, even down to ages 12 or 13. They're already coming in with torn ligaments.”

Getting Certified
You can visit the Babe Ruth site to get your coaching certification. Once you take the course, you are certified for life. This is a requirement for All Star and Competitive coaches.
