Little League Baseball has been played in Norwalk since 1951 making it the oldest and longest running youth sports program in the city.
In 2015, our tradition continues at Veterans Memorial Park along with locations at Broad River, Brookside and Fitch. Norwalk Little League’s philosophy is that all children, regardless of ability, should learn and enjoy the game of baseball.
We use a “running batting order” for all age groups Players play a minimum of 4 innings on defense. Every team makes the playoffs. Every player learns to play different positions. Little League uses a pitch count to protect our player’s arms. We group our players in age groups (4-6, 6-7, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12). We do allow players to “play up” based on their ability and recommendations of our managers and coaches. Our coaches attend clinics to give our players proper instruction and to make it fun and enjoyable.
We have a Challenger Division for children with special needs. Norwalk Little League is proud of our long-standing commitment to the youths of Norwalk and look forward to an exciting 2015.
BROAD RIVER FIELDS ARE RECEIVING AN UPGRADE
Something very exciting is happening at the Broad River baseball fields. The city approved, and the Norwalk Little League Board voted to invest in upgrading both fields at the Broad River complex. The improvements to Field #1 include permanent fencing, a new grass infield and a sprinkler system. Field #2 is receiving permanent fencing and new dugouts. All of these improvements are going to greatly enhance the experience of baseball at Broad River and give Norwalk Little League two signature fields at its primary location. With these enhancements, Norwalk will be able to host District tournament games starting in 2016 and showcase our baseball spirit at Broad River.
The cost of this project has been funded almost entirely through our own Norwalk Little League resources, with support of donated time and energy from the City of Norwalk Parks and Rec Department and Signature Landscaping. However, we are looking to offset the costs as best we can through an online campaign. We welcome you all to visit the campaign site, view the recent construction pictures, and donate if you feel so inclined. All funds received through this campaign will go directly towards the cost of upgrading the Broad River Baseball complex. The link to the donation site is below:

For any of our sponsors that wish to contribute, you can either use the link above or contact or Sponsorship Coordinator Chris Morin via e-mail at morinchris@me.com or by phone at (203) 246-1356.
The work at the fields is nearing completion. We invite everyone to stop by Broad River and check out all the progress.
Enjoy your day - and play ball!
