Rules
FALL BALL RULES
1. PLAYERS:
a. Teams play with however many players show.
i. You may NOT recruit any NEW Players.
b. There are no forfeits and/ or penalty outs for fewer than nine players. The exception to this rule is tournament play.
c. All players sit only 1 inning per game.
d. For example, if your team has 14 players, all 14 players must sit during the game before re-seating individuals who were previously benched.
e. Field Position(s):
i. Maximum of 9 players on the field for Minor, Major, and Babe Ruth - free substitution.
ii. All players can play defense for Pitching Machine.
2. LINEUP FOR PITCHING MACHINE.
a. Teams will use the same batting lineup ALL SEASON.
i. For instance, if your 10th batter in game 1 was your last out, in game 2 your 11th batter will bat leadoff. Thereby, everyone receives an equal time of at-bats.
b. This rule does not apply during tournament play.
3. GAME TIME:
a. No new inning in Pitching Machine (6,7,8) after 50 minutes, or 5 innings.
b. No new inning in Minor League after 1:15 hours, or 6 Innings.
c. No new inning in Major League after 1:30 hours on nights there are 2 games.
i. 6 innings or no new inning after 8:00 pm on Single Game Nights.
d. No new inning in Babe Ruth League (13-14) after 1:30 hoursand (15-18) after 1:45 hours, or 7 Innings on nights with 2 games
i. NO TIME LIMITS ON NIGHTS WITH 1 GAME!
4. PITCHING:
a. Pitchers may pitch 2 innings per game.
b. Coaches may reenter any pitcher at any time.
c. Coaches MUST pitch a YOUNGER pitcher each game in the Minor League and Major League-3 outs or 6 batters!!
i. Exception: Younger pitcher requirements do not apply if the team has only one scheduled game during a given week.
ii. Babe Ruth (15 -18) is not required to pitch a YOUNGER pitcher.
d. Absolutely NO intentional walks.
5. RUN RULES:
a. Only 5 runs can score per inning in Pitching Machine League.
b. Only 8 runs can score per inning in Minor, Major, and Babe Ruth Leagues.
6. TIE GAMES:
a. Games may result in a tie, with the exception of league tournaments.
7. BAT REQUIREMENTS:
a. Pitching Machine League, Minor League, and Major League - USA APPROVED BATS ONLY
b. Babe Ruth League - WOOD BAT ONLY
8. UMPIRES:
a. Umpires must supervise warm-up pitches and begin games as scheduled.
9. SCOREKEEPING:
a. Home team is responsible for keeping the scorebook during games.
b. Scorekeepers are required to sit in the tower.
c. Games will be recorded in scorebooks, but team standings will not be made available and/or published.
10. THERE WILL BE NO MAKE-UP GAMES PLAYED. THIS IS A LEARNING LEAGUE. PLEASE TEACH THE GAME OF BASEBALL TO ALL PLAYERS. HAVE FUN!!
