- Born June 18th, 1980 in Fort Myers, Florida to Danny and Marilyn Grinstead. Graduated from Riverdale High School in Fort Myers, Florida class of 1998. Earned a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and sociology from Flagler College in Saint Augustine, Florida (2002).
A standout defensive first baseman through high school, was awarded Riverdale's defensive player of year award his senior year. He was also the team's captain that season sharing the honors with long-time friend and former major league baseball player, Tommy Watkins.
Walked on to the baseball team at Flagler College his freshman year, and subsequently launched a homerun in his first regular season plate appearance. Returned to the baseball team his sophomore year, but would decide to pursue other endeavors before the start of that season.
After reuniting with Brad Haley at the Riverdale alumni baseball game in 2007, Jesse and Brad co-founded the Lee County Black Sox in Spring 2008.
In his spare time Jesse enjoys Brazilian jiu-jitsu, movies, video games, wiffle ball, weight training, and spending time with his friends and family.
