Merchants 13, Expos 0, 7 Innings

The Merchants bulldozed into the championship game with a rout of the Fargo Expos.

Sam Hirchert fired a four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts on the mound and got plenty of support.

Bryan Erstad unloaded for a pair of long home runs. The first a three-run shot in the second inning and then a solo blast in the fifth.

Erstad was one of four Merchants with two hits. Andy Young doubled and had an RBI, finishing 2-for-3. Scott Stephenson doubled twice. Tom Houdek and Joey Demers also had two hits apiece.
