Quarterback David Arriaga ran for two touchdowns to help L.A. Roosevelt rally for a 23-16 victory over Fairfax in its season opener on Thursday night.

His brother, Daniel, also scored a touchdown. Roosevelt recovered an onside kick with under three minutes left and trailing, 16-15, before taking the lead. David Arriaga ran for more than 100 yards and passed for more than 100 yards.

Birmingham defeated Banning, 46-0. The second half was a running clock. Sophomore running back Sterling Salguero scored four touchdowns. Emanuel Castro passed for two TDs.

Gilbert Soto completed 12 of 18 passes for 259 yards and four touchdowns in Lincoln's 41-6 win over Van Nuys. Brandon Oroxon caught six passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.

El Camino Real defeated Sun Valley Poly, 28-6. Destin Cabatbat rushed for 91 yards.

South Gate defeated Westchester, 41-0. Lavell Thompson rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns. Andrew Toro completed 12 of 16 passes for 143 yards. James Shaw had 85 yards rushing in five carries.

Windward rallied for 20-17 win over Hamilton. Austin Webster scored the winning touchdown. Drew Bryant had a big game receiving and playing cornerback. South East defeated Lawndale, 27-12.

Former San Dimas running back Jake Payton, who transferred to Upland, then to Bonita, had a 93-yard touchdown run in Bonita's 33-13 win over San Dimas.
