#1 Narbonne vs. #16 El Camino Real

Narbonne is just too much of an experienced team to lose this game.  ECR might reign over a lot of sports in the City Section but in football, Narbonne is untouchable in the first round.

#8 Birmingham vs. #9 South East

This game is the toughest to choose from all the games in the 1st round. If this game is played at South East then the Jaguars would be the pick. Since the game is being played at Birmingham, the Patriots seem like the obvious pick BUT lacitysports has crunched the numbers and this is an exclusive UPSET SPECIAL ALERT! South East beats Birmingham on Friday.

#5 Garfield vs. #12 Palisades

The Bulldogs are a top 5 team in the city and not by accident. The road to a Division 1 Championship starts with a win over Pali.

#4 Carson vs. #13 Arleta

Carson plays in the toughest league in the City and they only have eyes set on a rematch with Narbonne. No upset here against the East Valley Champ, Arleta High.

#2 Crenshaw vs. #15 Jefferson

David Wiltz coached a great season for the Jefferson Democrats but it ends here with a tough match up against arguably the best team in the city. Crenshaw wants to show everyone that they should have been ranked #1 from beginning to end in the city playoffs.

#7 Dorsey vs. #10 Roosevelt

Roosevelt does not have the weapons this year to compete with a fast team like Dorsey.  Dorsey wants a rematch versus league rival Crenshaw in the 2nd round.

#6 San Pedro vs. #11 Farifax

San Pedro lost to Narbonne by 1 in league play. They are very good team that knows how to play against very good teams.  San Pedro vs. Venice in the 2nd round might be the most intriguing match-up.

#3 Venice vs. #14 Locke

Venice looks to remind city football fans that they should not be overlooked as a title contender.

#1 San Fernando vs. #16 Verdugo Hills

Defending champion San Fernando wins easily over Verdugo Hills.

#8 Bell vs. #9 Washington

Washington feels they should have gotten the home game because they play in the tougher league.  However, Bell will not drop two home playoff games in a row. Bell wins this one.

#5 University vs. #12 Chatsworth

Let’s get one thing straight, Uni is a very good team. Look out for an upset coming in round 2.

#4 Sylmar vs. #13 Marshall

Sylmar will win this game but will they be able to get past Uni?

#2 Granada Hills vs. #15 Van Nuys

Some people say GH didn’t deserve the #2 seed. Granada Hills will show everyone why they need to quiet down just a bit.

#7 Grant vs. #10 Huntington Park

UPSET SPECIAL ALERT. Huntington Park wins a close one against Grant.

#6 South Gate vs. #11 Lincoln

South Gate wins easily over Lincoln and looks to move onto the semis in the next round.

#3 Eagle Rock vs. #14 Hamilton

The Eagles felt they should have gotten the #1 seed or at the very least the #2 seed. Instead they got moved to #3 and have messages to send out to the seeding committee and the city section.  Eagle Rock by a big margin.
