Torres vs. View Park Prep at J.R. Stadium

Central League runner-up Torres (8-3) faces top-seeded View Park Prep (11-0) at Jackie Robinson Stadium in a Division III semifinal.

The Toros, who advanced with a 35-7 win over Wilson, feature a potent rushing attack led by senior Jose Munive (139 carries for 1,173 yards, eight TDs). They also get production from Julian Munoz (867 yards, six TDs) and Erick German (809 yards, four TDs).

Senior quarterback David Frontanez has complemented the ground attack by completing 58.3 percent of his passes for 1,340 yards and 14 TDs.

On the other side of the ball, junior defensive end John Gonzalez leads the City with 19.0 sacks. Munive has three interceptions.

View Park, a 50-0 winner over Douglass in the quarterfinals, is led by 6-3, 210-pound senior linebacker/running back Cameron Griffin. He has 124 total tackles, 80 of them solo, 4.0 sacks and three interceptions to lead the defense. On offense, he has 550 yards rushing, 310 receiving and 11 total TDs.

Against View Park, he had 12 tackles (nine solo) and rushed for two scores.

Safety Aaron Lewis leads the Knights with six interceptions.
