L.A. City Section Football Final Four Results

UPDATED SCORES as of Saturday November 30, 2013

Division 1

Narbonne 40 vs. Carson 12 FINAL

Narbonne easily beat Carson for the third straight year in a row in the semifinals.  Makes everyone think what a Garfield vs. Narbonne match up would have been like.  Narbonne moves on to the Championship to try and make it a three-peat!

Crenshaw 30 vs. Venice 25 FINAL

This game was a tale of two halves. In the first half Crenshaw dominated the Gondos forcing three turnovers and capitalizing on all three possessions. The Cougars were up 24-0 at halftime. But the Gondos came back strong to start the 2nd half. Alexander Diamont lead Venice on a 80 yard drive to start the 2nd half to make it 24-6 after a missed extra point. The Gondo defense then stepped up and forced a punt and Diamont again lead the offense to another touchdown to make it 24-12. The Gondo defense again set up Diamont for what could have been a great comeback by picking off Crenshaw at the Crenshaw 30 yard line. The Gondos however were unable to take advantage and turned it over on downs.  Crenshaw then drove 85 yards for a TD making it 30 - 12.  The game was not over though, Venice scored with 2 minutes left to make it 30-19 then recovered an onside kick and scored another touchdown to make 30-25 after a failed 2 point conversion. The onside kick after that bounced around and ended going out of bounds sealing the win for Crenshaw.  Crenshaw will face Narbonne at 8:00p at East Los Angeles College on Friday, December 6, 2013.

Division 2

San Fernando 24 vs. Chatsworth 14 FINAL

Chatsworth's run ended but not before giving San Fernando a great challenge and making the score a lot closer than what people expected.  The 10 point win for San Fernando should serve as a reminder that nothing is guaranteed in playoff action.  They will have a tough test against an even hotter than in South Gate next Friday.

Granada Hills 24 vs.  South Gate 26 FINAL

We tried to warn you about South Gate back in early November. Is South Gate Football back? I would say so after pulling off a historic win for the school's program. No one expected them to go into Eagle Rock, the #3 seed, and win and THEY DID. No one expected them to go into Granada Hils, the #2 seed, and win and THEY DID. No one except lacitysports.com. Now the Rams will have their toughest challenge yet against the #1 seed, San Fernando, in what should be a great game Friday at East Los Angeles College at 4:00p.

Crenshaw vs. Venice

South Gate upsets #2 Granada Hills

Division 3

View Park 56  vs. Torres 8  FINAL

View Park easily took care of Torres. I don't think people know how good View Park is. The Knights would easily compete at either the Division 1 or 2 levels.  They now move on to face Poly.

Poly 38  vs. #3 Bernstein 32 FINAL

Bernstein gave it all they had on the field. With 2 minutes the Dragons had the ball and a chance to win the game but fell short. Bernstein and their coaching staff should hold their heads really high for the tremendous season they have had.  The program has been built and we will see Bernstein Football deep in the playoffs for many years to come. Poly's defense came through when it counted the most and will now have to face a View Park team that is used to playing in big games.

Poly should give View Park a run for its money in the Championship game.
