Coach Llerandi played college baseball at Hillsborough Community College and the University of South Florida where he received a BA in Social Science and MS in Administration from Nova Southeastern University.
His first head coaching jobs were at East Bay and Leto High School . His team won the region title in 1986. He was the head coach at American Legion Post 5 in Tampa Fl.
. In 1994, he became the head coach of the Duluth Wildcats where they were state runner up 1995 (AAA) and won 2 region championships .Coach Lou has received Georgia and Gwinnett Dugout Club coach of the year honors and the Gwinnett Daily Post coach of year award.. His Duluth High School teams completed a .690 winning percentage over a 5 year period.
His last two coaching assignments were at Norcross High School 2001 to 2003 ) and Mt. Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek where he lead the baseball team to their first state playoff appearance in 2010. From 2010 to 2015 he was on the baseball staff at North Gwinnett High school. He returned to Norcross as an asst to Reggie Stancil in 2016 where the team won the region and
finished In the final four of the state championship !!
IN 2018, he was at Pinecrest Academy in Cumming under Head Coach Heath Kennedy. The team made the state playoffs and had a great season!
OVER 125 PLAYERS UNDER COACH LLERANDI HAVE GONE ON TO PLAY COLLEGE BASEBALL. and some have made the Major leagues.( Nick Green Atlanta Braves) Brad Radke( Twins) Mike Figga (Yankees) Marc Valdes(Marlins) Colin Mc Hugh (Astros) current player!
He was the owner of the Berkeley Baseball-Softball Academy and has directed many camp and clinics in the area.
IN 2004,COACH LLERANDI STARTED COACHING TRAVEL BASEBALL AND COMMITTMENT TO PLAYER DEVELOPMENT.
Coach Lou retired from the Gwinnett County school system in 2012 He was a Social Studies teacher for 31 years and has two daughters Lesley and Alina.. He is the grandfather of Joey,Alex Harris-- Nicky "Deuce" and Theo Thomas Mauritz. He is married to Tracey Karen Llerandi and have 11 grandchildren
