We finally have the crew back together, all 12 in same picture for one, look how cute they look, awww.....

The 12u Mo Valley Crew.....we had 3 other Teams ask us to trade goodie bags, it's a good thing to play the game the right way, you gain respect from your competitors.... 

we are all heading off to the corner with the rest of competition .....

so....it takes a whole lot to entertain this group, it's like time stops and this crew goes into free time mode

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!

Palm Springs vs Redlands

So World Series is under way.......we came out with a good approach and scratched 2 runs on a Tazz bb, Turtle bb, and Turbo 2 rbi 1b.......but what we earned we gave right back, they scratched 1 unearned run while getting 4 runners on base and batting 8 players.....normally what we do......Tazz settled in and started to deal , she faced the minimum 3 batters for 4 inn and allowed us to make noise on bases ourselves.....we had runners every inn, 2nd inn started with Krunch bunt 1b, she wore it in the back to prove it, Pep hits line drive down right field line to plate Krunch, Tazz follows with a 1b to score Pep and we are now up 4-2....in the 6th inn we again made noise, Tazz 1b, Turtle 1b, Turbo 1b and we scrated an insurance run for a 5-2 lead......a lead off walk followed by a fielders choice to Turbo and we erase lead runner on a flip to Ipod.......1 down 2 to go.....after an error gets 2 on and 1 out, we get a fly ball out to KandyKorn at 3rd for out #2, with runners now on 2nd and 3rd, ground ball hits the runner at 2nd for out #3......though we gave up 2 runs, we did enough to put us in a good spot.....good start to our 2015 run in World Series.......

With other Teams also under way, we knew we could give up 1 run, 2 if we wanted to leave it to a coin flip for the #1 seed.......As we took to defense, Turtle struck out their lead off hitter for out #1, we then allowed ball to drop in the outfield for 1st runner of the game...a walk follows, then we get a fly ball to KandyKorn for out #2.....another walk followed to load the bases, we make a pitching change and Turbo strikes out the batter to leave the bases loaded and we get out of a jam........Turbo then takes the circle and with the help of the defense, line drive out to KoolAid for a huge out and a double play to Turtle....defense makes big plays to preserve the goose egg in the game....that is what our goal was for the game......, line drive Squinky caught for a big out in the 4th capped off a strong defensive effort which was huge for us..........runs came in bunches, we scored the 4 in the 4th and final at bat with a big inn, Turbo 1b, Ipod bb, KandKorn bb, Gemini bb, and a huge 2b by Krunch to finish the scoring and allow us to mercy the game.......job extremely well done......

THURS 7/23: Movie Day - Lunch Time - 1 short hour of swimming.....this Team Building together with the girls is what helps us to share strong moments on the field...though it seems trivial, the chemistry and comraderie that comes from these times is something we can't practice, but the unity and friendships that comes from this is the huge benefit I will always hope we reach....thank you to those that drove from home to make this happen, it will always show on the field when the girls come together.....cya on the World Series Diamond.......

FRI 7/24: Palm Springs vs Coachella 

Facing Coachella which had just won their game in a walk off vs ValleyWide, they were fired up ready to go.....Coach Joe goes to flip the coin, we are sticks, in their mind it is their advantage........we jump out of the gate, Tazz 1b, Ipod bb, Turbo bb, Turtle bb, KandyKorn 1b, Gemini bb, Rocket bb, smoke clears and we plate 3 runs....we go play defense and record out #1 on 4 pitches, we then allow a 1b, bb, bb, bb and they plate their first run, we make a pitching change and follow with a ground ball to Tazz and she records out at home, a fly ball to Turbo ends the inn and we limit the damage to only 1 run.....offense then went to work, a bb to Squinky, Tazz 1b, Ipod bb, Turbo ground ball to short and we plate another run, Turtle follows with a 1b, KandyKorn and Gemini both bb, Rocket 1b scores two more, KFC fly ball to center and we plate 1 more to put up 6 in the inn......back in cruise control.....Turbo then takes the circle again and allows a runner on an error, she ks the next batter for out #1, fly ball drops in bermuda triangle and we now have runners on 1st and 2nd, fly ball to Turtle for out #2, and a ground ball to Gemini gets us out of a jam........end of 2 inn, 9-1 good gals.....we need 4 runs to have opportunity to end game early....Tazz leads off with a 1b, Krunch follows with a 1b, Turbo hammers a double to plate both Tazz and Krunch.....Turtle follows with a 1b, KandyKorn 1b, Gemini 1b, Pep 1b, KFC fielder's choice and we plated not only the 4 but 5 for insurance......Turbo came back out and did what we do, throw strikes and let the defense work......after a lead off walk, she gets out on #1 on a k swinging.....late covering the bag and not making a routine play at 1st we allowed the bases to get loaded with only 1 out, Turbo then ks batter for 2nd out and ground ball to Gemini at 2nd to end the game........job well done, let's refocus and get some rest, we are now in the Semi Final game vs Redlands, and they will be ready to end our streak, I think we have something for their new pitcher, let's go get this done....

We have put ourselves in a good position....a Championship game as a young 12u Team, really unheard of.......but with the format in place, loser is not 2nd place, loser needs to play in 2nd / 3rd place game after Championship game.......with this all out of the way, and knowing what is at stake, get your rest and let's go take care of our end so that we may once again put ourselves in a good spot.......

Semi Final Game

Redlands Red vs Palm Springs

we came out flat, a bad habit from our group, on the very first pitch we are caught on our heels, a slow ground ball goes through the infield as if we weren't quite ready, unfortunately there isn't any do overs, and we must focus and make a play.....2nd batter gets hit on the hand and now runners on 1st and 2nd.......weak ground ball to right side and bases now loaded and 0 outs.....we finally catch a break, wild pitch bounces back to KandyKorn and we get an out at home, another bb loads the bases with 1 down, foul ball fly out and out #2, a 2b plates 3 runs follwed by a ground ball out back to Tazz, we are out of a "nightmare" start, but still lot of time in the game.......we come up and get 2 runners on but with 3 routine swings comes routine outs, our rally over, 3-0 after 1st inn....Tazz then took control, next 5 inn only 3 runners reached base, 15 made outs, all routine plays were made, which means defense was aggressive again and we were in it together.......on offense we once again made noise in the 2nd inn, a Gemini bb, Kfc bunt, runners on 2nd and 3rd after wild pitch......we fail to lay down a bunt and runners still on 2nd 3rd with 1 out......KoolAid follows with a bb, loads the bases, Tazz gets a 1b to plate our 1st run, we are right back in it, 3-1 Redlands.....3rd inn started out of character, Turbo struck out for the first time in 3 months, I had to look it up as this is  not something that happens very often.....with 1 down Turtle rips a 1b to left, KandyKorn follows with a bb, Gemini hits a 2b to right that scores 2 runs and she reaches 3rd on a throwing error.....with instruction to KFC to take a strike then lay down a bunt, she did, ball 1, strike 1, she lays down a sacrifice bunt which plates Gemini as 2nd out recorded, JOB WELL DONE- SACRIFICE FOR THE GREATER GOOD OF THE TEAM, after another infield out, we are now up 4-3 after 3 inn.......in the fourth we once again made noise but not enough, another infield ground ball to lead the inn gets us 1 up 1 down, Tazz then reaches on a 1b, steals 2nd, infield fly to 3rd for 2nd out, Turbo hits a line drive but we fail to score Tazz, 1st and 3rd and 2 down, a line drive to center and we leave important runners on the base again, but still getting base runners which is putting pressure on their pitcher....5th inn started with us up 4-3, a routine fly ball for out #1 in center, a routine ground ball to pitcher and out #2, KFC reaches on a bunt, Squinky reaches on a walk, but we fizzle out again, routine fly ball to left for out #3, end of 5th and a 4-3 lead.....going into our last at bats, we needed to burn 8 minutes to end the game as we had a 1 run lead and didn't need to defend if we could eat the clock.......with instruction to take a strike on every batter, Tazz hits fly ball to center for out #1, Rocket follows with a double, Turbo takes a 2-2 pitch and drives it back to the pitcher, she goes down and Joy reaches 1st while Rocket scores insurance run....I know this feeling, it isn't fun, and those bruises last about 2 weeks before pain subsides and bruise goes away(love the invention of bownet), their pitcher was done, and they bring in 2nd pitcher, with only 3 minutes left and only 1 out, game was ours, just let the clock run out.....Turtle follows with a 1b, time runs out, but Coach Freddy from Redlands let's me know if we can continue the game so they could get out of the inn, Gemini follows with a double, I am now getting text messages from Mo Valley as well as HD that time has run out, and game should be called, I once again approach Coach Freddy and he tells me they will work their way out of it, KFC gets out on ground ball to short for out #2, I look at Coach Freddy as now Coach Joe has been told by base ump we have killed the clock, home plate umpire refuses to call the game, so we get Gemini off the bag for out #3, game is finally called by the umpire, and we finished strong at the plate to send us to the Championship Game......we are now in position to win this thing, but we have a huge obstacle in our way, the power hitting Palm Desert Squad, once again, get your rest, and as always, I like our chances.......LET"S GO FINISH STRONG AND BRING HOME WHAT YOU GUYS HAVE WORKED HARD FOR....
