The Warriors had to go deep into the evening and play a total of 4 games Sunday to bring home the championship. The boys went 2-0 in pool play Friday and Saturday and looked to be set up with a #1 seed and a first round bye. But mother nature had other plans. The rest of pool play was rained out and the only fair way to seed was to have a blind draw. As luck would have it we drew the ever tough Granger Cubs. After playing to a 1-1 tie, the tiebreaker reverted back to the last completed inning that the game wasn't tied. The Warriors led 1-0 after the 1st, so the boys got to move on. The 2nd and 3rd round games were well played with the Warriors winning 15-5 and 7-2 against the Northern Indiana Cardinals and the Indiana Flyers. That set up a championship game with the Michiana Scrappers. After playing 3 games the boys had enough gas left in the tank to finish 1 more game. The hot bats, great pitching, and stellar defense proved to be too much for the Scrappers on this night as the Warriors won the championship game 14-3.
