Preseason HS All-State Nominees

 

 

ANNAPOLIS, Md. Maryland RBI catcher Billy Albaugh and outfielder Connor Graham are each a nominee for the Maryland High School Preseason All-State Team selected by the Maryland State Association of Baseball Coaches (MSABC).


              For over 30 years the MSABC Preseason All-State Team has served as one of the most coveted and prestigious off-the-field honors in Maryland high school baseball. The award recognizes players whose skills stand out among all other student-athletes participating in the sport. MSABC announced a record-breaking 130 nominees from across the state who represent the sport’s finest in the view of the state's baseball coaches.


              Albaugh, a senior (Southern HS, Harwood, Md.), has committed to play college baseball at Prince George's Community College. He was named to the 2014 Team Maryland and Maryland Futures high school all-star teams, All-Southern Maryland Athletic Conference (SMAC) honorable mention, All-Calvert County First Team, and Academic All-SMAC Second Team. As a sophomore in 2013, he was named All-County First Team, Academic All-SMAC First Team, and AAU National Underclassmen All-Star.


              Graham, a junior (Northern HS, Owings, Md.), won the 2014 AAU Maryland Outstanding Youth Leadership Award for Baseball and was named to the All-SMAC Academic First Team. As a sophomore in 2013, he was named AAU National Underclassmen All-Star.


              “Year after year, the impressive student-athletes associated with Maryland RBI Baseball continue to inspire and raise the bar for others,” said Mike Graham, Maryland RBI 19U manager. Maryland RBI is proud to have these remarkable student-athletes who have earned recognition on the state and national levels and are represented among the record number of nominees nominated by the state's baseball coaches."


              The final All-State roster of 30 award recipients is announced in January.
