Whitefish High School Speech and Debate results from yesterday's tournament in Stevensville.

Led by a near perfect tournament by senior Abbie Belcher (Champion in extemporaneous and impromptu speaking), a full-team effort made our first sweepstakes victory of this season possible. Sam Benkelman, 2-time State Champion in Expository, was named tournament champion in Original Oratory, a new event for him. The students have dedicated themselves fully to being prepared and well-practiced since the first of October, and the pay-off was obvious on Saturday against several of the top teams in the state, including last year's runner up state champions, Belgrade and last year's 3rd place team, Hamilton. Teams are not yet at full-strength due to fall sport participation, so we are well-aware the the work is just beginning and look forward to the exciting season ahead.
