ONE OF OUR BIGGEST CHALLENGES - STAY "HUMBLE" , ALLOW OTHERS TO SPEAK OF HOW WELL YOU PLAY, AND NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO THINK YOU ARE BIGGER THAN THE GAME, ALWAYS REMEMBER THE 20-1 LOSS TO REDLANDS, THE FALL IN PERRIS WHERE WE WENT 0-4, AND ONLY HAD 4 HITS IN THE ENTIRE TOURNAMENT, THESE MOMENTS WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE YOU, THIS IS WHAT WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE YOU BETTER, AND ENJOY THE CHALLENGE TO PUSH YOURSELF TO REACH NEW HEIGHTS........WE WILL SEE STRONGER DAYS AHEAD......HUMBLE..........

 ONE OF THE BIGGEST SURPRISES....NONE OF THEM WANTED TO BE INTERVIEWED, I LITERALLY GRABBED THEM BY THE HAND AND PUT IN FRONT OF CAMERA...WHERE IS THAT DURING PRACTICE????  JUST OUR LUCK , RIGHT???

The Valley will see YOUR hard work does pay off, YOUR CHAMPIONSHIP, my headache,  my phone blowing up with "R we holding TRYOUTS???

Though only a handful of players made it out, it felt like 13 players were there...hmmmm......

I always darn near beg and plead for girls to take pre-game serious, as this is where games are won and lost.  This is a result of finally reaching them and the seriousness of the moment.  It happened vs El Monte, and once again prior to Heat game.  They got together and realized we need to come "TOGETHER", it wasn't a joke, and the results in those 2 games was a direct result of them taking the moment, slowing it down, and knowing as ONE we are a HUGE POWER, as individuals we can be beat, I LOVE THE APPROACH I WITNESSED IN THE DUGOUT, I KNEW THEIR HEADS WERE IN THE RIGHT PLACE, AND THE RESULTS OF BOTH GAMES SHOWED IT WORKS.....TOGETHER!!!

YAAAA!!!!!!  THEY JUST DID IT, EXTREMELY STRONG GAME, VERY EXCITING, AND THEY COME HOME WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!! 

SO WHAT COMES NEXT ???  RING SIZE, CHAMPS.....

Welcome to what has driven us since we first experienced 3rd place finish as 8u, now 3x Champions in a row!!!

THEY ARE ABOUT TO UNLEASH A FURY......AND IT'S JUST INTRO TIME....

YES, IT'S LET'S GET EXCITED TIME, OUR TIME TO SHOW WHO WE ARE, LET'S DO DIS THANG!!!!! 

 I am always proud of the way the girls handle the adversity thrown in my direction nearly every time we step on the field...they take offense to it, as they are the ones putting in work on the fields 3-5 times a week, they are the ones sweating it out, and accusing me of not playing fair is calling them out as well, as they work harder than any other group I have ever run across, including the boys World Series Champions I have been a part of, so this was from my end very rewarding to see them accomplish a VERY RARE FEAT - 3X REPEAT WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS!!! It has been a different team all 3 years, but the "core" that has stuck with it has helped make it all possible, we have had the right players come and join us at the right time, and we are able to just keep clicking and firing on all cylinders....CONGRATS- YOU DESERVE IT !!!!

 

As I was reminded in front of a crowd of 40-50 Coaches at Manager Banquet,  as I was reminded by book signing prior to first game, as I was reminded receiving Silver 2nd Place medal Ceremony in Redlands, as I was reminded at Opening Ceremonies, Softball Coordinator Brad let me know every step of the way we were 2-2 vs Heat, and they had momentum as they won Zone, World Series was winner take bragging rights for another year, and in Hemet at meeting he lets me know he had another twist for us....I figured Rialto was coming and I welcomed the challenge....it wasn't Rialto, it was El Monte, and did they bring gas with them!!!.....Redlands had advantage, they played them in pool without any real damage if they lost, they would still play in playoffs, we get them in bracket play, if we lose we are out......3 years in a row, same scenario, Semi and Final best teams left in our path, but as I always tell the girls, "IF YOU WANT TO BE THE BEST----YOU NEED TO BEAT THE BEST"....we have stood up to the challenge 3x, we have delivered all 3xs, and yes, every time is just as good as the last time out.......Hopefully we can be fortunate enough to get into another World Series Finals somewhere along the line, but for now, LET'S ENJOY THIS VICTORY,  AS I'M NOT SO SURE WE WERE THE TEAM PONY WANTED TO SEE IN THE FINALS, BUT WE WERE THERE, AND WE BRING HOME THE HARDWARE, JOB WELL DONE CHAMPS!!!!  

 

Our Finals Game gets under way with plan "B" and plan "C" very close in my mind....why?...well some knucklehead wears flip flops she has never worn and gets a blister on her foot, yes, a pitcher with a blister on her foot is not a good thing, what made it worse, It was my child and I had her walking at shopping center, aww man, what did I just do!!!!!  with a close eye on her, she started well, 1 & 2 hitters reach, routine ground ball back to Turbo gets lead runner at 3rd, Kfc throws a lazer to complete double play, ground ball to Gemini and we make routine plays, we hang a zero on the board...we come to the plate, routine fly ball, routine ground ball, KandyKorn ropes a 1b, but another routine ground ball we we end the 1st inn 0-0 tie...Turbo throws 11 pitches and we retire the side on a strike out, Gemini catch and double play of the runner at 1st......our 2nd again not good results, pop up for out #1, lazer to left for out #2, KFC laces a 1b to left, and failed hit and run gets her out at 2nd, end of 2nd inn, 0-0 tie....on a lead off 1b, the Heat bunted runner to 2nd, Turbo ks their lead off hitter for out #2, they get a blooper to fall in for a run and runner on 2nd, no ones fault, they just got hits, a strike out to their best hitter and we limit the damage to 1 run.....as girls came in, the message was simple, they scored 1 run, we need to be 1 better, let's go get 2 back, but trust in what we are trying to do.....Squinky 1bs up the middle, Pep follows with a 1b to left, on an infield fly out, Heat lost their composure, they didn't need to throw the ball, but they did, straight into our dugout, it scores Squinky, Pep goes to 3rd, and Tazz out on infield, fly, by rule, that is the correct call, I was just glad umpires knew it or trust me Directors would have found a way to deny my challenge....after another failed bunt attempt, KandyKorn Laces a 2b, Tsunami runs for her and scores on a Gemini 2b to left center, Turbo laces a line drive to left, they were so deep it was taking away our hits, but that was just good scouting on their part...end of 3rd, 3-1 good gals....Turbo again strikes out their first batter, next batter hits line out to Turtle in foul ground, next batter reaches on a ball 4, then we retire her on a KFC to KandyKorn fielder's choice at 2nd to end the inn...another lazer to start the inn, but once again they play deep to make the catch, KFC 1bs past the shortstop again, but then retired on routine ground ball that ended up a double play, end of 4th, 3-1 good gals...with one of their slowest runners we made a mistake, we backed up on ground ball, and it gives them a runner on an error, next player laces a double, we catch runner trying to score on a heads up play by Tazz to KandyKorn in run down at home, runners on 2nd and 3rd, 1 down, a 1-2 count we make a mistake on a pitch, single up the middle and they score 2 runs across the board, unearned runs always hard to overcome.......we make a pitching change, Tazz walks her first batter, runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, Tazz also strikes out their best hitter for out #2, fly ball to Turtle and we end their rally with the game now tied 3-3 after 4 1/2 inn.....we miss a bunt sign again and wind up with routine fly out for out #1, hard ground ball for out #2, with 2 outs Turtle laces a single up the middle, KandyKorn once again laces a shot but right at shortstop for the 3rd out........a very loud half inn, just no runs, but the swings will start to fall for us......end of 5th inn, 3-3 tie....their 6th started with a 1b up the middle, next batter hits line drive to Turtle for out #1, 3 pitches later pop up to Tazz for out #2, (I saw yellow of softball wanting to come out, but we still had infield fly rule in effect, we were good...we then let a ball drop in front of us in the outfield, but held runners to 1st and 2nd......next batter hits fly ball to Turbo and we are now out of the inn......all this action and we are only 56 minutes into the game, clock will not be an issue this game, but we scratch a run and it changes everything...we lead off and a routine play at 3rd gets out #1, Turbo singles to Left center, KoolAid called on to run for her, my only instruction, KFC hitting well, make sure you run bases smartly....Beetle laces another shot but once again left field playing deep, out #2, they bring her in for KFC, on a 2-1 count, KFC lines a shot over her head and winds up at 3rd, KoolAid races around home for the score, we are now up 1 run and KFC standing at 3rd.....Squinky comes to the plate, "no signs kid, just hit the ball"....BAM!!!! single up the middle...Stretch now running for Squinky, we strike out at the plate to end the rally, but not before 2 runs scored.......end of 6th inn, 5-3 good gals, only 3 more outs, but always the hardest to get......after 7 pitches, Tazz strikes out their 1st batter, 1 down, 2 to go.....on a 1-0 count a single to left....on an 0-1 count, a ground ball up the middle, runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, then the biggest at bat of the game for the Heat......on a 2-0 count, Tazz hits her spot, fastball away, weak ground ball up the line, it comes back fair, hits the base, and roll into right field, the runner never leaves the box, Beetle throws to Turtle at 1st for out #2, a run scores and runner winds up at 3rd....had she run, it would be 1st and 3rd and only 1 out, she didn't, gave us an out, and put advantage back on our side.....on a 3-1 count Tazz again locates a great pitch, fastball away, fly out in foul ground to Turtle, and we win the game....5-4 win, we didn't require our last at bats, and as Coach Joe told me prior to game, they may make us go 9 inn if we are up at end of 7th, though I was excited for the girls, I looked for directors to see if we were going 9 innings........thanks a lot Joe....we pitched a great game, only 2 inn we had any signs of trouble, we limited the damage both inn with quality pitches....their #1 - 3 - 4 - 7 hitters went 7-10 in Redlands, in Hemet they went 2-12 with 4 strike outs, pitching with location is pitching, trying to throw it by someone , well, everyone takes batting practice throwing fastballs, location is pitching, pitching is locating....that was the difference.....hitting we did more than enough, quality swings were being caught as their defense was playing with their back against the fence, that is good adjustment on their part, we found holes if we continued to make adjustments with our approach and swings, we did enough.....in Victorville we gave up 6 unearned runs, we lost 9-8, we made changes to our defense, we only gave up 2 unearned runs, we win 5-4...it's a game of adjustments, we made the right moves, we made to quality pitches, and enough of our quality swings plated 1 more than the Heat, and as I heard in Redlands when we were down, "We can't handle the Heat".....we just showed, yes, yes we can, "WE DID HANDLE THE HEAT!!!"....

CONGRATS CHAMPIONS!!!!!, LOTS OF PEOPLE THINK IT IS EASY TO DO WHAT WE DO, WHEN THEY CAN'T, THEY SAY WE ARE CHEATING, IF WORKING OUR WITH OUR GIRLS 3-5 TIMES A WEEK IS CHEATING, WELL, WE ARE REALLY GOOD AT CHEATING, AS HARD WORK DOES PAY OFF, AND THE BEST CHEATERS JUST WON, LET'S GO PLACE OUR ORDER AND PUT ANOTHER RING ON IT!!!!!  YOU BIG CHEATERS!!!!

What an exciting game, I did stay and scout team vs Redlands, I was impressed by their pitcher, and knew it would be tough game...4 players came for bp to prepare on our off day, aft that workout, I was anxious to see if it would work, those 4 went 9-17 in the game, yes it did work, the plan we put in play worked well.....this is what makes it exciting to be a part of something special, the girls will realize it when we are done....we gave up 2unearned runs, chasing 2 we chipped away, 1 in the 3rd, and 1 in the 5th, 1 more in the 6th, and 3 in the clock expired 7th, that inn should never have been played, but it gave us 3 more hard earned runs....most of the damage was done vs their ace, and were we pumped to make it happen......let's now repeat this game vs Heat tomorrow, and maybe their parents will quit calling me and saying our girls have a lot to say, let's show them on the field who we really are, get your rest, LETS FINISH THIS!!!!!! TOGETHER!!!!!!

And yes I was killing the clock on purpose, we started the 7th by going over 7 minutes, this inn never should have happened, on their time not mine, but am glad the girls finished strong, it will help us in the Championship game.....

with playoffs under way, we drew a team a little over matched, our goal, play 3 inn, score 12 runs, and go watch El Monte pitcher....we handled our end of the deal by scoring 6 runs late, all happened with no out in the third inn, in the circle Turtle no hit the Lq squad, onto the semis, and we never did see El Monte pitcher as they also made quick work of their game......

We saw their strategy warming up their pitchers, slow to start and fast to finish….it didn't work, we hammered, 5 runs 1st inn, 8 runs 2nd second inn, 2 runs in the third.. …Tazz and Turbo getting work in to prepare for Saturday, it was another quick game, we once again put in 3 inn, everyone played, and the big prize,  yes bigger prize gets closer tomorrow with every pitch, lets go do this!!!!!

PALM SPRINGS VS REDLANDS RED

Turtle and Beetle in the circle was awesome.…they reached base with only 3 runners, which means we did really good job pitching.…hitting was as good as the pitching, 13 runs in 1st inn, 1 in 3rd, and we got an at bat for all players in only 3 inn..that is hard to make happen, but we did...3 pitchers on their end, and we did what we do, hit the ball...it was hot, and we got ourselves out of the heat quickly, on to Valley Wide.…

Bomb Squad vs PS All Stars

I needed a way to motivate girls to play Bomb Squad, it fell into my lap, I was asked to go easy on them, then asked if we could only pitch Pepsi vs them, I gladly obliged, and told them we would super size her for them.... It worked, though I warmed up Beetle and Turtle, I told Pep they made a mistake in asking for her, we had her back, and they will dream Pepsi LOGO tonight.…..only 1 run on 3 hits, 1 bb, 5 ks...I think they will be drinking diet coke tomorrow...... Offense went well, 13 runs, only 3 inn, and everyone had a chance to hit, it was a good day at the plate......

On a bigger note, we watched El Monte vs Heat, pitcher for El 

Monte throwing 50-55 mph, she throws gas, just a little wild....Heat beat her not by hitting, but bunting the ball, though gas on the menu, defense very suspect..... We will have our work cut out for us Saturday, but you have to beat the best to be the best,and we are up for the challenge.... Cya Fri, great start and challenge of a competitive World Series...
