Hamilton/Northern Burlington Babe Ruth (OD) Officer of the Day Duty List
The Officers of the Day have numerous responsibilities. It is important to arrive early to ensure the field is ready for games to start promptly. Arrive no later than 45 minutes before start of game. Please make sure a parent from each team is available to provide scorekeeping duties and garbage/50-50/foul ball duties. Responsibilities include:
Pre-game
Most of the field preparation work should be done by the coaches of the day's games. It is important to check that everything is ready for use before the scheduled start time for the game.
Ø Unlock Complex & Batting Cage
Ø Unlock press box and turn on scoreboard
Ø Check bathroom and supply as needed
Ø Ensure Home team has prepared the field for the game (List in dugouts)
Ø Ensure both teams have parents for game duties
Ø Unlock pool gate
Ø Get baseballs for game from concession stand
During Game
Ø Once game begins check batting cage, turn out lights, and lock
Ø Turn on field lights when necessary
Ø Periodically check with the concession stand to see if they need any help
Ø Assist with foul balls
Ø Check with umpires to see if baseballs are needed
Ø Check with parents doing game duties
Ø Check trash cans and empty as needed (bags are in concession stand)
Ø Check Complex and assist with any issues that may arise
Post-game
Ø Lock pool gate
Ø Turn off score board and lock press box
Ø Ensure Visiting team has cleaning up (List in dugouts)
Ø Both teams are to sweep their dugouts and take garbage out to dumpster
Ø Make sure all equipment is in the Sea Box and close
Ø Turn off Field light
End of Night

Check bathrooms

Remove all garbage from concession stand

Assist with closing the concession stand

Check that all lights are off

Lock club house

Leave with concession stand staff and lock gate
