 TOMS RIVER — The St. Rose ice hockey team defeated Toms River North 8-3 on Friday.

The Purple Roses got three goals and three assists from Alex Phipps, while Sean Grant supplied two goals for St. Rose.

Will Lemonie had a goal and three assists for the Purple Roses. Shane Force had a goal and an assist in the win and Joe Trilli had a goal for St. Rose.

Marc Sandomierski had three assists for the Purple Roses and Bryce Grant had two assists in the win.

 The Purple Roses played Notre Dame on Tuesday in the first round of the Non-Public state tournament [See related story]. 

St. Rose lost to the Fighting Irish in a shootout to end its season with a record of 9-11-3.
