Why do all of our girls wear face masks?  I was constantly asked....because the safety of the girls has to come first, I ask our players and parents to trust I will look out for them, then I play them vs older girls because of their level of play....Girls are now thinking they are too old, and refuse to wear every chance they get, some excited about High School, they don't make them wear it.....Safety has always been big with me, girls play with bases at a distance of 60 feet, that is 30 closer than boys which play at 90 foot base path.  Girls pitch from 43 feet, boys pitch from 60 foot 6 inches.  the speed of the game much faster in girls softball than boys baseball......the State of Kentucky has just changed the rules, and other states are sure to follow....1st Base, 3rd Base, and Pitcher is NOW MANDATORY to wear a FACE MASK, STARTING 2017/2018 HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL SEASON.....I hope every Parent will one day realize the importance of SAFETY, and believe the way I have with our Lil Sluggers, you must wear a mask, or don't play, I feel better that it reduces the risk of getting hurt and allowing them to play the game.....Kentucky has just raised the bar for High School Softball, and hopefully others will follow........A Thankful Coach - $49 Mask can allow a Parent and Coach to rest easy.....
