Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity's effort to come back from down five runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 5-3 to Little Elm on Tuesday. Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity scored three runs in the failed comeback on a double by Haven Grider in the sixth, a single by Angel Espinosa in the sixth, and a single by Jessica Dracoulis in the seventh.
Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity couldn't keep up with Little Elm early in the game. Little Elm took the lead on a in the second inning.
Little Elm opened up scoring in the second inning, when a sacrifice bunt by Kaity Adams scored one run for Little Elm.
Little Elm scored three runs in the third inning. Little Elm big bats were led by Madison Adams, Lauren Lucas, and Adams, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Lucas pitched Little Elm to victory. She surrendered three runs on six hits over seven innings, striking out 13 and walking one.
Taylor Groover took the loss for Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity. She went four innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking one.
Espinosa went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Lewisville Fighting Farmers Varsity in hits.
Little Elm totaled nine hits. Mikayla Roy, Lucas, and Adams each had multiple hits for Little Elm. Roy led Little Elm with three hits in three at bats.
