Bstad Caps Big Day with Walk-Off Bomb

May 23, 2018

Fargo, ND – The nine month offseason didn’t slow down the reigning AAA MVP Bryan Erstad, Erstad picked up right where he left off last season by leading the Merchants to a come from behind victory Wednesday night over the Moorhead Miners.

“Thunder Road has pretty much been my second home this offseason, stated Erstad. I’ve really worked hard on trying to increase my launch angle, so far, so good.”

Erstad capped his four hit day by hitting a majestic walk-off two run home run into the night sky. The homer gave the Merchants a 12-11 victory in a back and forth game that saw the lead change seven times.

The M’s pounded out 16 hits in all. Andrew Hill’s solo blast in the fifth might have put a hole in the FM Curling Club building out in right field. Statcast’s estimated exit velocity on the homerun was 93.8 mph.

Jake Stillwell threw a scoreless ninth for the M’s to pick up his first career win. He also added two hits at the plate.

The Miller Lite Merchants will take the Memorial Day weekend off before they get back in action next Wednesday against the FM Mets. First pitch is scheduled for 7:02 PM. The first fan in attendance will receive a free Beast in the parking lot after the game.
