Skid Row's Gladys Park Celebrates Easter in Style

Easter came one day early for the children and the residents of the Skid Row area of downtown los angeles, with the 1rst annual Gladys Park Easter Celebration.The event featured egg painting and an Easter egg hunt for the children, as well as food and live entertainment which featured rappers MC Crushow and Unkal Bean of skid row. The event was sponsored by the Skid Row Streetball league as well as the Union Rescue Mission and various other agencies in the downtown area.

Councilwoman Jan Perry and Councilman Jose Huizar were among the distinguished guest of the event. The event also featured the debut of the Skid Row Boxing Club fronted by former boxer Richard W. Lady Xplicit showed off her dancing and MC talents as well. ”This event is about bringing the residents and other people who are not familiar with skid row together. I believe that we accomplished our goal of unity today.” Stated General Jeff, who was one of the organizers of the event and is called the mayor of Skid Row.

Overall, the event was a great success.
