(LA Valley College) Aaron Cantu (Schurr) completed 28 of 44 passes for 275 yards and two touchdowns for the ELAC Huskies, who proceeded with an unanswered second half flurry to break a halftime tie and rout LA Valley 40-13 Saturday.

Preston Oliver, a sophomore all purpose back out of LA Marshall, caught a 16 yarder from Cantu to open up scoring for ELAC before rushing one in from eight yards out to tie the score with 2:17 remaining in the first.

LAVC quarterback Bradley Hunt (Burroughs) went 21 for 33 in the air for 190 yards but drew no touchdowns and was sacked three times, one of those by former San Gabriel Matador Carlos Purser.

Another Matador, Alex Villalobos, also helped Cantu roll along with five receptions for 39 yards.

Dylan Gomez (Montebello) made three catches for 37 yards. Two of those went for key first downs, including a 30-yarder in the Huskies’ opening series of the second half.

ELAC will host their first home stand of the year this coming Saturday at 6:00pm against Santa Barbara before traveling to West LA College on September 15th (1:00pm) and starting conference play back home at Weingart Stadium on the 22nd versus Mt San Jacinto.
