MISSOULA – The Flathead and Glacier swim teams had solid showings at this weekend’s Missoula Swim Meet despite missing some of their top swimmers, and Whitefish’s Preston Ring took the top prize in two events.

The Glacier boys took fifth with 151 points and the Flathead boys were right behind in sixth with 148.

The Flathead girls finished in eighth with 65 points and the Glacier girls ninth with 53.

Whitefish was the top local team, finishing fourth in the girls standings with 214.

Ring won the 200-yard IM (2:01.17) and the 100 freestyle (48.22), while Ada Qunnel also excelled for the Bulldogs, taking second in the 100 butterfly (1:01.61) and 500 freestyle (5:25.27).

Flathead’s Jace Reed took fourth in the 200 freestyle 1:57.55 and fourth in the 100 butterfly (57.39), and the Braves boys earned a third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.46).

Glacier’s Sheryline Dye took third in the 200 IM (2:22.95) and fourth in the 500 freestyle (5:33.62).
