The fans rolled into “The Hill” early on a beautiful day for Baseball Sunday morning to cheer on the Bears 9U squad vs Vernon for the 1^st of 4 Games at Hillcrest Field.   Although the 9U Team battled all game, keeping it close, they came up one run short during their 6^th inning charge, losing a close one 7-6.

The crowds grew, the music was cranking, and the snack shack was hopping as the day went on.   In the 2^nd game of the day the1 0U Bears Team hosted a tough Hustle Club Team who took an early 5-0 lead into the 4^th inning.   The 10U boys clawed their way back into the game and tied it up on a 2-run triple in the bottom of the 6^th inning. The game was called a tie 7-7 by the umpires due to the time limit rules.

At the same time the 8U Bears were playing their Home Opener at Thurman Munson Field.   Although the 8u boys jumped out to an early lead they lost a nail biter to Clarkstown 12-10.

Later in the day, several of the boys from each team and their families stuck around to see the 12U Bears face off against the Vernon Cyclones.  We had a phenomenal pitching duel from both teams along with some solid defensive from the Bears giving them the win 2-0.

In finale of the day, as the rain and mist fell throughout the game, the 11U Team took on the Pequannock Panthers  The 11U Boys got out to an early lead and never lost it, winning in a close one 5-3. 

The 13U team has yet to play a game do to rain

The Bears will take some time to hibernate over Easter weekend and be back on the diamond April 28^th.

There was some real solid Baseball played by all West Milford Bears Teams this weekend-Thanks to all of the fans who attended each other’s game as the support and crowds were great!
