Sportsmanship Rate System: 

The sportsmanship rate system will be used to keep all participating parties in line with the sole purpose of the event—to play basketball. This rating system will hold teams and coaches accountable for their actions for the duration of the CarMax summer league at Pine Camp and rain locations. A high level of sportsmanship is expected from all participants throughout the tournament. A rate will be given to a team after every game and averaged together per game to receive the total overall rating throughout the league. League ratings will be updated weekly.

Important Note: Any team that receives less than 3.00 overall ranking will not advance to championship week. The next best team will take the spot to advance to Championship Week. Thisdecision is final and will not be up for debate nor discussion between coaches and KMX Summer Basketball League Staff. 

Expectations: 

Players, you are expected to handle yourself duringadversity throughout the games. This ranking system will benefit all involved parties in ensuring that more positive avenues are taken when dealing with adversity on the court. Be mindful on how you speak to officials, staff, or on-site personnel as it will be reflected in your teams overall rating.  

Coaches, you are expected to lead by example, daily. Be cognizant of how you speak to your players during adversity. You set the tone for your team and it is important that you are aware of the role you play regarding the flow and physicality of the game. You will be rated twice, once with your overall team rating and once on your own. Both ratings will be averaged out into the total ranking for the game played.
