FIA Fall 2024 Adult Hockey League Rules and Guidelines

 

1.     USA hockey rules apply unless noted otherwise.

2.    Games will be played in 3 periods, 15 minutes each.

3.   Running time will occur in the event of a six-goal differential in the third period. If the differential drops below six, the clock will stop.

4.     Automatic red line icing and tag up offsides.

5.     The season will consist of 12 officiated games plus playoffs.   All teams will qualify for playoffs.

6.     No player can play for more than one team in the same division without the commissioners approval.

7.     Final rosters must be received by the league director before the second game of the season. Payment must be in prior to March 17th, otherwise there will be a $200 late fee. NO EXCEPTIONS. failure to pay will result in a forfeit of remaining games. Team rosters will be limited to a maximum of 18 players. A player must play in at least four of their team’s games to be eligible for the playoffs.

8.     All players must sign in with their name and number at the front desk (or score box if late) before each game starts, no exceptions.

9.     If a game ends in a tie there will be a 3-minute 3 on 3 overtime period. If the game is still tied after the overtime period there will be a best 2 out of 3 shootout. If still tied sudden death shootout rounds will commence until there is a winner. No player can shoot twice in a shootout until all the players on their team have participated. The winning team will receive 2 points and the losing team will receive 1 point.

10. If a playoff game is tied after 3 periods then a 10-minute 4 on 4 overtime will begin. If still tied, additional 10-minute 4 on 4 periods will be played until there is a winner.

11. If a team forfeits a game within 24 hours of game time, they will be responsible for paying the $140 referee fee as the rink has to pay refs for any game canceled after 24 hours of puck drop.

12. There will be ABSOLUTELY NO FIGHTING allowed. A minimal fighting penalty will be a 5-minute major and a game misconduct as well as a suspension for at least 1 game. If a repeat fighting incident would occur in the same league year with the same player, said player will be suspended for the rest of the season (including the playoffs). The league Commissioner will handle all suspensions. FOUR penalties of any kind will result in a game misconduct.
