We came to play in San Berdo as an invitation was extended to play vs Klutch.....their Coach told me they had players from El Monte, San Gabriel, and Phelan , that’s about 5 different area codes, I gladly accepted, and though I didn’t tell the girls, I was as pumped as I have been in a long time, we were challenged and they sounded a little surprised we accepted the invite.....first Game was a surprise team, Enigma not on my radar, but made adjustments to the morning start.......we hit the ball hard.... we played solid defense......and we pitched really well.....after a short rest, and yes I was impressed by the klutch krew.....we came and hammered the ball again...we pitched well again, but our defense had a mental lapse for about 10 minutes.....we let the Klutch krew into our heads, and it affected our play...once we settled in, we flipped the script and finished strong, and I was excited to see our girls finish strong.....as we shook hands after the game, I told their coach to keep us in mind when his girls are ready to go again, his response, I made that mistake once already, but we will be back....sheer satisfaction....job well done ladies......cya on the diamond....

we won the flip, after a walk and a 1b, we fizzled out, but we had solid contact, it meant we would be ok....10 pitches from Turbo, ground ball to Tazz, pop up to Tazz, ground ball to Tazz, back in the dugout.....we came to life at the plate....Turbo 1b, Pep 2b, Beetle 218’ double(220’ fence), Tazz 1b, Turtle 1b, Gemini and TBird walk, we scratched 4 runs......Then Turbo made her one mistake in the circle, a 222’ bomb on a 2-1 count, but the best thing from that, the girls showed leadership, all I heard was, no worries, it’s only 1run......next three batters went down in order on 7 pitches, we get sticks again.....after KoolAid leads off with an1b, Tazz cashed her in 2 batters later, lady mo back in our dugout....they only scratched 2 hits and 2 bbs in the next 3 inn, a harmless run, and it kept us on offense for 40 of the next 50 minutes.....KFC hammers a 1b, Gemini hammers a 1b, Turbo hammers a single, Pep hammers a 3b, 3 more across.....time expires, we now get to hand out MVP Medal to their team, obvious choice, their pitcher hit the HR......on our end, Tazz takes home the hardware......not overlooked, KoolAid caught all 5 inn, she worked well with Turbo who pitched 5 inn and only allowed 4 hits and 2 walks, they didn’t get a medal, but they put in work ( also went 3-6 combined)...

we lose the flip....we get to set the tone on defense....1 pitch ground ball to Tazz, 3pitches later TBird runs down line drive in left field....4 pitches later with a runner on 1st, Pep ran down a line drive in right center, though well hit, we made the plays....I noticed something...it was a little bit chippy during the game, and we were just getting started.....2nd inn Tazz again deals...after she hit their lead off batter, a ground ball to Turbo, she throws to KFC at 2nd....KFC then throws to Turtle and we get 2 outs on a single pitch....3 pitches later Gemini retires batter from third, 2 inn and 0-0 game.....we then woke up......Turbo reaches on a 4 pitch walk, never before in 9 yrs of softball.....Pep , Koolaid, and Beetle all follow with 1bs....Turtle 2bs, KFC 2bs and we push across 5 runs......2 hits, 2bbs, 3 errors, and a fielders choice, we just gave up 6 runs and the lead....down 6-5 going to bottom of the third inn....simple instruction, compose yourselves......don’t let them occupy space in our heads, that’s NOT US TODAY OR EVER......though it wasn’t easy, we did compose ourselves, and we made the best of the inn.....TBird walks, Turbo 2bs, Pep 3bs, Koolaid , Beetle, Tazz, Turtle follow with quality’s swings and we score 4 more to take control again......but funny thing, the harder we hit, the more they chirped......but our girls now taking care of the game on the field......we kept them off the board with defense, Tazz ks batter, Turtle runs down a pop up, Gemini throws out runner, Pep to Turbo  to Turtle and we back door a would be baserunner....Gemini to Turbo erases lead runner, KFC runs down fly ball in shallow center field......we cleaned up the game, and we finished with our sticks when time ran out......this was a good win, and as we high fived our opponent, I caught several ” mean looks”....but that’s ok, it just means our girls played well......MVP time again.....they award  Pep the medal, a solid choice as she made a difference in centerfield.....for them, our girls rewarded their Centerfielder as well, she was 1-2, and as good a choice as any on their side......once again , Koolaid catches all 4 inn, and Tazz throws 4 inn, and holds them to 6 runs but only 2 earned, no medals for these two, but they performed strong.....I like it.......
