With rain during the week, we had a short practice week, but that one practice was as good as we've had in a long time, the bad thing, it was 5 days since we were last on the field....there would be rust, but if we pitched well and continued to hit, I did know we would compete well......our defense always what lacks behind, but this weekend was different, we played strong and never gave up a big inn, we stayed together, and even losing KFC early to an eye injury, we were able to play strong enough to finish ahead of the other teams......play strong , stay confident, stay aggressive, and good things will happen, we did, they were, and they made it happen........job well done, cya on the diamond.....

1st pitch was laced for a double, 2nd batter walked, 3 hitter strikes out, then we were wounded, runner tried to advance to 3rd and Kandy hosed her at 3rd, ball beat her by so much that runner tried to avoid tag by jumping over KFC's glove, in the process, she hit her in the eye as she went by, though it was unintentional, it cost us a player for the rest of the day......girls rallied around her and for her, we got out of inn limiting the damage to 3 runs......like we have done so often, we answered the bell, KFC walked, she took pitches with her good eye, TBird laced a 2b and Turbo followed with a 1b and we notched a crooked number, 3-2 them after 1.....next 2 inn went quick and no runs were scored by either side, 3-2 them after 3 inn.....4th inn we shut them down again, and our half had some fireworks.....Gemini led off with a walk, Pep 2bs her home......Kandy walks and Beetle ropes a double to cash in Pep and Kandy, we fight back to take the lead, 5-3 good gals......up 2 runs and clock down to 13 minutes, we were in good shape.....infield communication is HUGE.....I pulled Tazz aside and let her know, you are the QB, you need to take charge while we are on defense, and this inn was perfect example.....after lead off 1b, Tazz gets lead runner at 2nd with a throw to Gemini for 1 out....then 2 pitches later, ground ball to Turbo, I called for out at 1st as runner much faster than runner going to 2nd, but Tazz and Turbo got the lead runner at 2nd for out #2, they right play, and communication on the field made the play easy......with time running short, and 2 outs, the #4 hitter lost her discipline, we pitched away from her, she hit it off the end of the bat, and Pep helped get us out of the inn by making the routine catch, we limited damage....4 minutes on the clock, TBird and Turbo both walk, time expires, we finished on the positive end of the board, way to fight back, hit strong, play defense with "our heads", and pitch well, 7 minute break before game 2......

Without a flip, girls came back surprised that their Coach gave us sticks, we'll take it!!!! Tazz led off with a walk, TBird 1bs, Turbo 1bs and we are on the board.....they fought right back, they strung together 3 hits, but we limited damage to 1 run, always avoid the BIG inn and we can compete, we avoided big inn,and all square after 1st 1-1......KoolAid then drove ball up the middle to jump start us, Kandy followed with a walk, Beetle drove the ball to left and we scratch a run from KoolAid....Turtle then 1bs Kandy home and we are stretching the lead......TBird then KRUSHES a 1st pitch to deep left, 245' BOMB, the big inn happened, we push 5 across to take a 6-1 lead.....this team came out aggressive at the plate, but we kept making the routine plays to get us back in the dugout quickly......Tazz pitched a good game, 3 runs in 4 inn, never in any real trouble thanks to defense doing their thing......on our side, we kept getting big hit after big hit.....Gemini again led inn off with a 1b, with two outs, KandyKorn checked in with a double to deep left, great to have her bat coming back to life......Beetle again drives the ball to deep center and trades places with Kandy, Tazz follows with same deep hit and trades places with Beetle, smoke cleared and we ran 3 more across.....when it wasn't one Lil Slugger getting the big hit, it was another, a scary lineup to pitch to when we are all clicking on all cylinders.......another job well done........
