AGM started at 12:01 pm - February 29

As President Rich Knight welcomed all those on the Conference Call and those present at the Fieldhouse

Commissioner Tom Manuel started his message to all teams (although interrupted thru technical difficulties for a few seconds) the Commish noted although he is very happy in regards to participation from all teams he does have concerns with the 35+ group as we have not had a lot of new Teams enter in that Age Category. Tom suggested to see if there is a couple of teams (that are close to the 35+ age bracket) and invite them to a tournament to play an exhibition game hoping they would see what the VBFO is all about.  Tom's last message is to remind all Teams of the #1 item in the Constitution "VBFO shall be to promote and foster wholesome competition in tournament and 1day events on and off the field"

Next order of business was the 2019 season - Rich Knight was very happy with the turn out at every age bracket and how all the players conducted themselves on and of the field!

Rich also went over Teams Fees and The Insurance Policy

Your VBFO Annual fees are as follows
One Team - $100
Two Teams - (under your team's umbrella)$125
Three Teams (under your team's umbrella) - $150
**This is based on how many teams you are sending to Nationals which are in Ontario this year***

The fees can be sent by e transfer to - richknight15@hotmail.ca

Or by cheque

*****2020 - New Busineess*****

Started with Rich Knight and the Executive reminded  all teams hosting a tournament to do a brief tournament recap and send to Frank Iker at  fiker27@hotmail.com

Also all teams hosting One Day events and Tournaments should not end up losing money due to the increases in Park Permits, Umpires, and Baseballs. Each Host may request through VBFO Executive by e-mail to recover any lost money from their tournament.

All teams agreed on the following increases - suggested by Gord Dunn and 2nd by Tim Lessard with no objections for all One Day Events plus all Tournaments

One Day Events $250
Tournaments.     $350
Provincials Tournaments  $400
-----------------------------------------------------

*****35+ Division******

Rich Knight still looking for a Director for this Age Bracket, mentioned that Woodslee won the Provincial Tournament in Port Lambton 3-2 over Scarboro, and how all those who attended let it know how the parks where excellent to play on

Rich also mentioned that he will get in touch with the Teams that appeared in last year's 35+ tournament and see if lowering the age would help increase activity in that age group

****45+ (Now 43+)****

Director Tim Lessard made a special announcement that the 45+ division (due to all teams wishes and the Executive approval) To change the 45+ age bracket to 43+following the 35+ Rules  and when Tim asked were the any objections - there was not a sound (so we move forward) and Frank Iker will work with Greg McEachern to have this corrected on Website.

Derek Prescott then asked Tim and Rich about the voting policy to each age bracket (both Tim and Rich agreed) Each Age Bracket will be the only teams allowed to vote on any rule change

We congratulate Scarborough for winning the 45+ Provincials with Scarborough defeating Tecumseh in Final

*****50+ and 57+****

Director Dan Radobenko discussed the 2019 50+ Provincials in Welland, and how well the Tournament went - Congratulations to Scarborough who defeated Barrie in Final

Welland will host the first 57+ Provincial -scheduled date Sept 12/13

Dan also stated the troubles he is having booking  Burgar Park. Dan will continue to sort things out .

Brian Revin asked if they could revisit the rule no stealing when the team who is winning is up by 2 runs

Brian was asked to contact Danny by e-mail, Danny stated he would have no problem and would have the teams in that age bracket make the final call
-------------------------------------------------------

The Final item left was the VBFO 2020 schedule. However since there are still a lot of tournament information still up in the air, and Teams that normally host tournaments have not confirmed their tournament and date we will change information we received yesterday and post the tentative schedule on Website while continuing to follow up with hosts for  dates, age brackets with those teams and hopefully  confirm the 2020 VBFO Tournament Schedule by March 31st

At this point the VBFO AGM concluded
