Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp each day.  Transportation is provided for any camp-sponsored trips.

Is there a family discount for siblings?

We do not offer discounts for multiple campers.

What are the age requirements for the camps?

Our camps are open to five year olds who have completed Kindergarten in June through children 13 years of age.  Children 5 to 11 will be placed in our Summer Fun Zone Camp.  Children aged 12-13 will be placed in our Club Teen Camp.

Can I bring a refrigerated lunch or a lunch that requires heating?

Due to available space, campers are not able to bring a lunch that requires refrigeration or heating.  Pack your child's lunch as if it was a school day.

I have to miss a week of camp because of vacation.  Can I get a prorated rate?

Camp fees are based on six weeks of camp.  Fees are for the entire summer and cannot be prorated.

What times are the trips run by the camps?

Local trips are generally held in the morning.  Campers attending these trips should arrive at camp no later than 9:00am on the day of a trip unless otherwise noted.

Detailed information will be available with each trip about departure and arrival times.  Please check our Trip Information HERE.

What is included in the camp fees?

All daily activities, including assemblies held at the camp are included in the fee.  Trips and lunches are additional costs.

I have a child with special needs.  Can I request reasonable modification?

The Hillsborough Parks and Recreation Department is committed to an inclusive approach to recreation.  Inclusion is individuals with and without disabilities participating in recreation activities together.  In order for individuals to participate as fully as possible, reasonable modifications are provided.

Reasonable modifications are individualized techniques and resources used to enhance program participation without fundamentally altering a program.  Inclusion makes it possible for individuals to choose from the vast array of programs offered by Hillsborough Township Parks and Recreation.

For more information or to request modifications, please contact us at (908) 369-4832 or via email at recreation@hillsborough-nj.org.

We request at least one month notification for reasonable modification requests. In some cases reasonable modifications may take longer.

How do I register for trips and order lunches?

All trip registration and lunch orders are done through CommunityPass, our online registration system.  Lunches and trips must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance.  Some trips will have maximum enrollment limits or earlier deadlines; registration for those trips will close once the capacity is reached or the deadline has passed.

Do I need to be a Hillsborough resident to attend camp?

You do not need to be a Hillsborough resident to attend camp.  However, all non-township residents are subject to a $50 out-of-town fee added to their registration.

Where can I find calendars and updated summer camp information?

Complete information about summer camps is available on our website, www.hillsboroughnjrecreation.org. From there, click the pages tab to visit our summer camp page.  There will be camp calendars and other important information updated throughout the summer.

Information will also be posted on our Facebook page.

Is there a refund policy?

All cancelation requests must be done in writing and received by the Department office no more than 10 days prior to the start of camp unless your child is injured or medically unable to attend.

Can I have someone else pick up my child from camp?

All campers must be picked up by a parent, guardian or one of you emergency contacts.  If someone other than the parent, guardian or emergency contact is picking up your child, we must have a letter on file from the parent with the name and phone number of the individual picking up the child.  The person picking up your child should also bring a photo ID to the camp.

I still have some questions.  How can I contact you?

If you have additional questions, please contact our office at (908) 369-4832.
