Hayward United tied St Croix Valley and defeated Eau Claire to pick up 4 crucial points on the weekend. The Wolfpack travelled to St Croix on Saturday, tying the Saints by a score of 2-2. St Croix opened the scoring in the first half, but the Wolfpack answered off of a backdoor shot by Kaden Bergman, assisted by Nik Nordquist. After going behind again, Ethan Wolfe tied the game up late when he headed in a throw-in by Xavier Walt. Cole Bergman finished with 8 saves.
The Wolfpack then returned home to face undefeated Eau Claire Bateaux. Eau Claire dominated possession in the first half but the Pack opened the scoring when Kaden Bergman slotted the ball home in the 45th minute off of a Marshall Kennel feed. The game continued to go back and forth with chances on both ends but in the 88th minute Marshall Kennell chipped the keeper off of an Ethan Wolfe through ball, sending the bench and fans into a frenzy. Kaden Bergman sealed the win in the 90+2 minute off of a header served in by Nils Eckstrom. Cole Bergman finished with 6 saves.
The Wolfpack are back in action next Sunday at the Hayward Soccer Complex when they take on Barron Soccer Team at 4pm.
