Wolfpack Run Over Duluth Squads

Hayward Wolfpack FC won both games this week against old rivals from their previous league, the Duluth Amateur Soccer League.

In the first match, perennial power Portside FC went into the half with a 1-0 lead despite being heavily outshot. The Duluth-based side scored twice in the first five minutes of the second half before the Wolfpack made a miraculous comeback. Kaden Bergman scored twice, in the 61st and 69th minute with assists to Nik Nordquist and Ryan Praleikas. Nordquist then tied the game in the 73rd minute with an assist going to Yabkal Demelash, and Donovan Kerry sealed the win in the 79th minute off of a Nordquist header. Leone Espinosa finished the game with 3 saves.

In the second match, the Wolfpack scored three times in the first 20 minutes and never looked back, securing a 3-0 win over Green Machine SC in dominant fashion. Kaden Bergman opened the scoring in the 5th minute with an assist to Marshall Kennell, and scored a second goal 6 minutes later from a Nik Nordquist through ball. Nordquist scored in the 17th minute with an assist from Bergman, and the Wolfpack sailed to a win, with Leone Espinosa only needing to make 2 saves.

The HWFC Reserve team dropped both games on the weekend. They lost to Green Machine 0-2 and Portside 1-2, with Ezra Walt scoring.

The Wolfpack travel to Duluth and Edina this upcoming weekend
