Merchants Stay Unbeaten Against the Mets

Fargo, ND – The Jamestown Miller Lite Merchants moved to 10-0 lifetime against the Fargo Mets with a thrilling walk-off win Wednesday night at Helling Field.

The Merchants were in control most of the game and took a 4-1 lead into the top of the 8th.

However, after a leadoff error and a few dink and dunk singles off Merchant reliever Brandon Baumgartner the Mets took a 5-4 lead.

“Not today!”, hollered Dan Ross from first base after he came through with his third RBI of the day tying the game up at 5 with a two out single in the bottom of the ninth.

The next batter Tommy Linn then laced a single past the Mets first baseman scoring Bryan Erstad from second to cap the Merchant comeback as they moved to (5-3) on the season with a 6-5 win.

Brooks Brown picked up his first career Merchant win throwing one scoreless inning of relief.

John Eckstein dealt in relief once again throwing four scoreless innings for the M’s.

Past Wednesday League Action

The Merchants split their previous two Wednesday games. First losing to the Moorhead Mudcats 9-5 and then beating the Mayville Redcaps 7-4.

Zach Kluvers, Bryan Erstad and Tommy Linn each collect two hits in the loss to the Mudcats.

Against the Redcaps, Bryan Erstad collect four hits and three RBI’s to lead the Merchants at the plate. Brandon Baumgartner picked up his first win on the mound since August of 2019. Throwing six solid innings of relief while striking out nine.
