Oceanside - The San Diego Force win the first game of their playoff series against the Jays 4-2.
Both teams fired off early as the game was tied one-to-one after one inning of play. The two runs came off the backs of errors and quality baserunning. In the second inning, The Force took the lead with an RBI double coming off the bat of #39 Ben Davidson scoring #44 JD Schaeffer.
Scoring halted until the eighth as both pitchers dueled. #33 Chase Martinez, the San Diego Force ace, pitched eight innings, totaled 12 strikeouts and allowed zero earned runs. In the eighth, The Force gave Chase insurance as #5 Drake Pierson launched a two-run home run to right-center which scored #28 Michael Davinni.
While The Force allowed one run in the ninth, it was not enough to mount a comeback from the Jays and the game ended four to two. The Force will play the second game of the series on July 27 to attempt to sweep the series.
