Outlaws Win First Game in Tennessee

The Ohio Valley Elite Football Club travelled to the scenic state of Tennessee and claimed their first victory as a unit at the Rocky Top Tournament held November 20-21.

After struggling on the offensive side of the ball for their first couple of contests, the Outlaws exploded with a plethora of scores in a 36-0 victory

Quarterback and defensive end Nicholas Jordan of Vandalia helped lead the offense in their trio of games.

“I thought the trip was pretty cool and I like how the team bonded,” Jordan said. “I like being at the center of everything and I hope to keep playing the position of QB in the years to come.”

Unfortunately for the Outlaws they also dropped a pair of close games. They excelled on the defensive side of the ball but game up a late touchdown in a 6-0 loss.

Dual player Jamiyer Bean out of Miamisburg plays both linebacker and running back. He said he has been playing since the first-grade and this has been one of the most enjoyable experiences he has had on the gridiron.

“The league has been great so far. I really enjoy going out and hitting the opponent,” said Bean. “The physicality of the sport is awesome. I can’t wait to play more.”

A late safety cost them another game as the two sides went deep into the game scoreless. The rare 2-0 final was controversial, but at the end of the day the seventh-graders should have left the field with their heads held high.

“I was very impressed with how tough the kids were and how they flew to the ball,” said league founder and President Fred McDaniels. “They have already improved and I am extremely happy with their effort.”

The Outlaws next takes their show on the road when they travel east to Fort Wayne, Indiana the weekend of December 18.
