New Business

Rob Fisher brought forth a rule change suggesting pitcher be allowed to pitch as many as 7 innings in one game- Rob explained that as a pitcher and especially in the older divisions he felt it would be more beneficial to pitch as many innings as he could go in one game rather than pitching 2 or 3 innings in 2 maybe 3 different games that could create arm problems for those particular pitchers in future games. Even after the discussion , and a team that requested amendment from a 50+ team then 2nd that proposed rule, then stated they did not hear the original Rule Proposal properly.

After contacting Dan Radobenko (50+/57+ Director) Dan has suggested the following:

For this year on trial basis  - 50 + / 57+ ONLY

50+ Any pitcher can now pitch 3 innings or 9 consecutive outs , but in most case you will still need to use "3 pitchers"

57+ based on 6 inning games "ONE" pitcher can pitch 3 innings - 9 consecutive outs which means you have to use 2 other pitchers (in most cases 6 defensive innings) one (2 innings or 6 consecutive outs) the other (one inning or 3 consecutive outs)

Again this is on a trial basis, please read the following:

#1 - This is for 50+ / 57+ groups only
#2 - Teams can use the same rules already in place (50+) one pitcher 3 innings (57+) 2/2/2 innings for each pitcher, the choice is yours, Dan has offered a good alternative while keeping a competitive balance
#3 - Please provide any feedback to Dan Radobenko or myself

Last item Brian Hardcastle presented a cloth with a resin that could be used on a bat (replacing pine tar) or to help pitchers get a better grip on the ball or maybe even a glove - the good thing about this product is the resin last only for a day and no more tar residue left on bats . On follow up, Brian Revin asked if MLB has approved the product to apply to the baseball, Brian replied No,

However if someone is interested, let me know and I will pass along Bryan Hardcastle contact's information.

No other new business,

Rich thanked the team Reps for attending the meeting

Conference Call ended at 12:50 pm
