2023 DPLWS Tournament Rules

 

Little World Series

 

 

July 22,2023 Thru July 29,2023

 

Host League: Cresson Area Little Baseball League

 

Location: Sankertown VFW POST 7377 Auxiliary Community Baseball Field

 

The tournament will be played from July 22th to July 29th, 2023 at theSankertown field.  Each team participating will supply the following items, before the start of the tournament: one dozen baseballs (Wilson A1074), a check for $250.00 (made payable to Cresson Area LittleBaseball League, a Certificate of Insurance from your league, a team roster, a team photo, a brief letter of your team achievements for the year, and a list of participants from your league for the Base Running & Homerun Derby contests.  Items should be turned in by July 10,2023.  Team photo, team roster, a list of Base Running & Homerun Derby contestants, and the letter of achievements for your team MUST be turned in by e-mail.

SUBSTITUTION AND BASE RUNNING RULES:

1. There will be a maximum of 6 coaches in each dugout. (This includes the score keeper)
2. There may be 2 adult base coaches.
3. There is no “Must Play” rule.
4. There is a EH in the tournament.
5. A 10-run rule, ending the game, will be invoked after 4 innings, (or 3½ innings if the home team is winning). A 15-run rule after 2 innings will be in invoked. 20-run rule anytime once home team Bats
6. A starter can be substituted for one time.
7. If a starter goes back into the game, he or she must go back in at the same spot in the batting order.  (There is no limit on the time the starter must stay out of the game.  The substitute is finished when he or she leaves the game.)
8. A courtesy runner can be used for the catcher at any time, and cannot be a player in the game.  (The courtesy runner does not count as a substitute).
9. No fake bunting will be allowed (if a player squares to bunt, then swings they are out).
10. ALL GAMES MUST BE COMPLETED.

11. THERE WILL BE NO THROWING THE BALL AROUND THE HORN AFTER EACH OUT. 

 

PITCHING RULES:

1. There is no limit to the number of 12-year-old pitchers that can be used.
2. A pitcher may pitch a maximum of 6 innings in any one game.
3. If a pitcher pitches more than 3 innings in one game, that pitcher must have one game’s rest*.
4. After accumulating 6 innings of pitching, that pitcher must have one game’s rest*. (After a game’s rest*, the pitchers innings start over, even if 6 innings have not been accumulated.)
5. A trip to the mound will be charged when a coach calls time-out to talk to his or her pitcher, OR crosses the foul line.  
6. On the third trip per inning, per pitcher, that pitcher must be removed from the pitching position, and may not return to that position.
7. After a total of 4 trips to the mound, per pitcher in one game, that pitcher must be replaced and may not return to that position.
8. There will be a 100-pitch limit per game (Pitcher may Finish Batter once they hit 100 pitches).

*A game’s rest constitutes that pitcher not pitching for 1 whole complete game.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY: 

For the 2023, Season DPLWS will be using the new age requirement of June 30, for this years tournament.
