NYSSCOGS' New York State High School Girls Soccer Hall of Fame - all years

Class of 2025 - Induction Ceremony is Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 3:45 at Niskayuna High School

1 - Coach/Contributor Don Cupertino (Bronxville HS, Class B) 544-135-37 career record from 1990-2024 (active). Twice named state coach of the year, 4 state titles (one was a state rankings title during pandemic), 1 state runner-up finish, 5 final fours, 22 section titles, 5 sectional runner-up finishes, 27 league titles.

1 - Coach/Contributor Rich Savage (Rye HS, Class A), 526-124-46 career record from 1987-2024.  Twice state Coach of the Year, 2 state titles, 1 state runner-up, 4 final fours, 22 league titles, 8 section titles, 4 section runner-up finishes.

1 - Stephanie Smith (Harrison HS), Class B, forward/midfield, Class of 2000, 6-year varsity player. All-State once. College - Penn State. Played professionally.

2 - Coach/Contributor Zale Benton (Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville, Class D) 369-353-32 career record from 1984-2024. One state title, two final fours, 6 section titles, 8 section runner-up finishes, 1 state coach of the year award. For decades, coached one of the only D teams in a league of C and B schools. Has helped NYSSCOGS All-State committee for a handful of years and state rankings for one.

3 - Marcy Micek (Fayetteville-Manlius), forward, Class of 1991, Class A. Twice an All-American, All-State records during her tenure were not kept. College - Villanova.

4 - Kristin Lee Sotak, Maine-Endwell HS, Class B, forward, Class of 2004, All-State four times (1st team, 3rd, 2nd, 5th), state finalist once. College - St. Bonaventure. Played professionally.

4 - Taylor Bennett (Dryden HS), Class of 2016, forward, Class B - State Player of the Year once, All-State first team two other times, fourth team once. College - Syracuse.

5 - Coach/Contributor Jon Beardsley (Fillmore HS, Class D) 1995-2024, active coach, 450-115-31 career record, assists with state rankings and All-State for five years. Five section titles, 2 section runner-up finishes, two final fours, 

5 - Nina Scalzo (Webster Schroeder HS, Class of 2000, forward, Class AA) - All-State second team as jr., first team as a sr. College - Syracuse.

6 - Carissima Cutrona (Williamsville South HS, Class A, forward, Class of 2014), 2nd team All-State three times. College - Univ. Buffalo.

8 - Francesca DeCristoforo, defender, Class A, Herricks HS, Class of 1993. All-State First team as jr. and sr.  All-State records for her sophomore and freshman year are missing. College - St. John's. 

8 - Jessica Widmann (East Meadow HS), Class of 2011, defense, Class AA. All-State first team twice, 6th team as soph. College - Fordham.

11 - Christina Bellero (Half Hollow Hills West), Class of 2015, forward, Class A. All-State twice. College - St. John's. Played professionally.

11 - Shannon Donovan (Half Hollow Hills East) Class of 2003, midfield, Class A, All-State twice, 5-year starter. College - UNC Greensboro. Played professionally.

11 - Coach/Contributor Scott Wallace (Harborfields HS, Class A, 1991-2002, career record 304-189-50) - 1 state coach of the year, 5 section titles, 1 final four, contributed as Sec. 11 rep for NYYSCOGS appx. 7 years for state rankings and All-State.

1 - Coach/Contributor John Westbrook (North Rockland HS, Class A, 1989-2002) - 1 state title, 1 state runner-up, 6 final fours in 12 years. 1 state coach of the year. Career win-loss record missing. NYSSCOGS contributor appx. 5 years in the 90s.
2 - Coach/Contributor Bryce Colby (Niskayuna HS, Class AA and A, 1995-2021) - Career record 374-119-41, 2 state titles, 3 state runner-ups, 7 section titles, 9 section runner-ups, 10 league titles, twice named NYS Coach of the Year. Co-Vice President of HOF for five years and host school all of the first five years.
2 - Coach/Contributor Tom Husser (Hoosick Falls HS, Class C) - Career Record   285-81-13 (2001-2021 minus two seasons), 6 section titles, 3 section runner-up finishes, 3 State Titles, four State Final Fours, twice named New York State Coach of the Year. On NYSSCOGS rankings committee, All-State, and Hall of Fame committees for 10 years.
2 - Ashleigh Barone (Shenendehowa HS, Class AA, forward, Class of 2008), 1st team All-State three times. College - Siena.
2 - Kelly Rozumalski (Middleburgh HS, Class of 2003, forward, Class C), Class C state player of the year twice. College - Maryland.
3 - Carissa Gilbert (Liverpool HS, Class of 2004, forward, Class A), All-State 3rd team as freshman, 2nd as soph., 1st team as a jr., 1st team as a sr.. College - Maryland.
3 - Sarah Ungerer (Westhill HS, Class of 1996, midfield, Class C), State player of the year twice, All-State first team three times, 9th team as a freshman when all Classifications were combined for All-State. Team won 2 state titles. College - Penn.
4 - Alison McKeown (Ithaca HS, Class of 2003, forward, Class AA), All-State 1st team twice, 2nd as soph, 4th as freshman. College - Penn State and Cornell.
4 - Kellie Gale (Maine-Endwell HS, Class of 1997, forward, Class B) - All-State 1st team, 1st, team, 1st team, 2nd team. College - Colgate.
5 - Coach Gary Ward (Wheatland-Chili HS, Class C and D) - Career record 550-183-62, 3 state titles, 9 section titles. 2 state coach of the years, 2nd winningest coach in NYS history.
5 - Coach Melody Harwood (Arkport HS, Class D, 1984-2014, 2018-2019) - 464 career wins, 3 state titles, 5 final fours, 9 sectional titles. Two state coach of the year awards.
6 - Coach/Contributor Christopher Durr (Williamsville East HS, Class A, 1995-2020), career record 391-88-35, two final fours, 10 sectional titles, 16 league titles in 26 years. Represented Section VI on every NYSSCOGS committees for 15-plus years.
8 - Coach/Contributor Bruce Stegner (Massapequa HS, Class AA, 2008-2021) - 217-28-25 career record, 11 Section 8 titles, 5 state titles, 2 state runner-up finishes, 5 state coach of the year awards. On NYSSCOGS rankings, All-State committees five years.
8 - Hope Breslin (Massapequa HS, Class AA, Class of 2017, forward) - 2 state player of the year awards, 3 state titles, 1 state runner-up, 4-year starter. College - University of Illinois
8 - Beth Totman (Rockville Centre South Side HS, Class A and B, forward, Class of 1999), twice named state player of the year (first B player to accomplish that in NYS). College - Harvard and Boston College.
11 - Coach/Contributor Mike Reilly (Islip HS, Class A, 2002-2021) - 251-69-27 record, 13 league titles, 10 sectional titles, 3 sectional runner-up finishes, 1 state title, 3 regional titles, 2 state coach of the years, NYSSCOGS rankings and All-State committees 10 years, co-VP of HOF for 5 years. 
11 - Mary-Frances Monroe (Northport HS, Class A, Class of 1997, forward) - All-State first team twice, 1 state title. Colleges - UConn and UCLA.
