CFB KINGSTON GOLF LEAGUE BY-LAWS 2024-25

GENERAL

2.Play shall be IAW and Golf Canada and the By-Laws listed below.

3.Where Golf Canada rules differ, the By-Laws shall be the final authority.

4.All matches will be nine (9) holes and played at the Garrison Golf andCurling Club (GG&CC).

5.Teams will play no more than two (2) matches on any scheduled day.

6.Garrison Golf Club local rules and regulations (including dress code) will bestrictly enforced.

7.Each team shall only take a maximum of double par on any one (1) hole;then pick up your ball and move on. If both teams are double par, the holewill be scored as a tie.

8.Players are to spend no more than two (2) minutes looking for a lost ballfrom the time they arrive at the location where the ball was lost.

TEAM COMPOSITION

9.Team composition shall be as follows:a)Each team shall be departmental in nature;b)Each team will have a minimum of twelve to fifteen (12-15) players on their nominal roll (no maximum);c)Smaller units may amalgamate in order to meet the minimum player requirement;d)A master copy of the team nominal roll must be sent to the Military Sports Department, prior to the season starting;e)Players who are posted in during the regular season will be eligible to play but must be added to the official team list, prior to playing any league games;f)Registered players may not go to other teams without notifying the Sports Department and requesting a waiver (Note: a player may only ask for a waiver once during the season); andg)Only four (4) golfers from any one (1) team will play on a given play day.

MATCH

10.Match will be a 2-player scramble format over nine (9) holes. The visitingteam shall identify their groups first. The team with the lowest score will bedeclared winner of the hole. The hole is considered halved, if both teamsshoot the same score. The team winning the most holes wins the match.A single player can play against a team of two (2) players but can only playone (1) ball.

Points will be awarded as follows:

Win = 3 points

Tie = 2 points

Loss = 1 point

Cancellation loss = 1 point

Default Loss / No Show = 0

Note: Cancelled games cannot be re-scheduled. As such the non-cancelling team will be awarded the win. Teams who cancel before the 24 hour window will be awarded 1 point for the loss. TEE-OFFS

11.Each team is responsible to show up and report to the Starter a minimumof ten (10) minutes prior to their scheduled tee-off time. Any team (minimum1 player) that has not reported to the Starter at least five (5) minutes priorto their scheduled tee-off time will DEFAULT LOSS for the match and thewaiting team will be awarded the win (no exception). No change in timingis allowed; all games will be played as per scheduled.

SCORE CARDS

12.The score card is the responsibility of both teams (i.e. each team shouldacknowledge the other team’s score). The card will have the player’s fullname, the team name and the Unit printed neatly. All scorecards must besigned by both teams (signifying that the score is correct) and the Captainof the winning team will be responsible to deposit the card in the box(located in the pro-shop). Score cards that are not received by the SportsDepartment will result in a DEFAULT LOSS to the offending team. Illegiblescore cards will also count as a loss.

Note: if the opposing team is a No Show, ensure a score card is stillsubmitted with your player’s particulars.

DEFAULTS / NO SHOWS

13.Any team accumulating three (3) NO SHOWS during the season will becontacted by the Sports Department and their case reviewed to determinefurther participation and/or ejection from the league.

If only two (2) players show up per team, they must split into singles. A minimum of 2 players must be present in order to play the match; otherwise it will be considered a loss.

Operational requirements/commitments are the only acceptable reason for a cancellation. If a team needs to cancel a game, the Team Rep or one (1) player on the cancelling team must contact via email the opposing Team Reps, the GG&CC Office Manager and the Sports Department a minimum of 48 hours before the scheduled match.

A team will receive a DEFAULT LOSS if they play a match with a player that is not registered on their team nominal roll.

MATCHES CANCELLED / CALLED DUE TO WEATHER 14.Intersection matches will not proceed if GG&CC is closed due to weather.The sports office will contact unit team OPI’s in the event that the day iscancelled due to weather. Games that are cancelled under this rule will notbe counted in the league stats (i.e. No Win, Loss or Tie will be recorded).The scorecard shall be deposited in the box provided at the GG&CC pro-shop, signed and attested by a member from both teams IAW para 10 ofthese by-laws, and annotated "Match Cancelled Due To Weather";regardless of whether the course has re-opened or not.In the event the weather becomes unfavourable after league play has commenced and the GG&CC closes, points will only be awarded if the last match (last tee-time of the day) has completed at least one (1) hole. The matches will be recorded (win/loss/tie) based upon the completed holes to that point. If the last match has not completed at least one (1) hole, none of the Intersection matches will count regardless of how many holes were completed.

Should a team leave the course prior to the GG&CC closing the departing team will be considered to have defaulted the match, regardless of the score to that point. Scorecards from matches resulting in forfeiture shall be signed by the remaining team, annotated "Match Forfeited By (team)", and deposited in the box provided at the GG&CC pro-shop. Protests concerning matches affected by this rule must be submitted in writing to the Sports Department, within 48 hours of the scheduled match. TIE BREAKER / STANDINGS

15. Team standings at year end will be decided by: total points. If there is a tie in the standings between two (2) teams at the end of the season, it will be broken by:

1. most wins; then

2. head to head record; then

3. record against common opponents.

REGISTRATION

16. Each team must pay a team registration fee as per deadline voted on by the league committee. The fee will be established at the general meeting by a majority vote of the team reps. This money will be put towards the end of season tournament/banquet.

Note: No team is eligible to compete in the league if their total registration fee is not paid in full as per the deadline. Delays in paying this fee will result in the team’s removal from the league. Any team that is removed from the league due to an accumulation of no shows will not be refunded this money.

PLAYOFFS / TOURNAMENT

17. Upon completion of the regular season, a single-elimination playoff will commence. The playoff format will be as follows: quarter and semi finals will be based off the regular season standings, and will be re-seeded after each round to make sure the lowest seeded team always plays the first place team and so on.

The top four (4) teams in each division will make the playoffs; resulting in a three (3) week playoff series. The two groups from each team will combine their scores against the opponents’ two groups, to determine the winning team. Ties will be broken by each team selecting two (2) players who will play a sudden-death format until a winner is determined.

18. To conclude the season, a one (1) day tournament will take place. A Special Events Committee will need to be organized at least one (1) month in advance of the tournament date in order to organize timings, format, registration, awards and cost.
