Merrimack Valley Senior Softball Association

For the 2nd year in a row, the MVSSA will be holding a 50/50 raffle to benefit the league and its players. However, this year we are in a different financial state than last year. Our budget is based on 6 teams of 13 players (78 total), and as you probably know, we came up very short this year with registrations. Instead of raising the player fee, we kept it at $150/player with the intent of making up the difference with the 50/50 fundraiser.

We will do the same as we did last year, giving 10 tickets to every player, which will sell for $5 per ticket. Nardi Lawrence is coordinating this, and will pass out the tickets. We would like 100% participation this year, if possible, so that we can maximize the money coming in. If you have a big family, or a big circle of friends or co-workers, hit them all up for $5. If you know you will need more than 10 tickets, please get them from your coach. If you're the shy type, and don't want to bother anyone for the $5, please take a chance that you'll win and buy all 10 tickets. All money collected should be given to your coach, who will be responsible for promoting the event and participation by all.

In addition to coming up short on players, we would like to raise enough money to finance the post-season party again, something that was very successful last year, and also kick in some cash for the MVSSA Storm's entry in the Cape Cod Senior Softball tournament in September. If everyone sells $50 in tickets, the winner's share will be over $1800! We will have the drawing sometime late July or early August, more details to be announced.
