ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING!? CYS has joined with Greater East Texas Pee Wee Football League and we look forward to you registering with CYS for the 2025 Football & Cheer season. The GETPWFL is based out of Van Texas and has consitently scheduled up to 9 towns every season. This is an all play league requiring participating teams to play youth athletes with a minimum of 6 plays every game which allows all players the opportunity to get on field experience no matter thier skill level. GETPWFL football structure will include a regular season schedule, post season playoffs and one Super Bowl for the best 2 teams. The cheerleading structure allows cheerleading during games, during half time, and as teams progress in the post season cheerleaders will cheer during playoffs and the Super Bowl. All cheer teams, by grade level, will compete in an end of season competition each year allowing teams who wish to participate the opportunity to showcase their skills for the chance to earn the title of best cheer squad in the league. GETPWFL game structure is based on UIL rules starting with required practice start dates to game day play rules. There have been rules created to allow our younger teams (First/Second Grade) to be more competetive by not allowing any QB sneaks in the A gap and no defensive rushing over the center. Ball carrier weight limits are in place throughout all age level teams to allow a safer and most competetive game experience.
Typical Saturday Game times (can vary depending on season schedule and quantity of participating towns/teams)
1st/2nd Grade
8:30 Game 1
9:45 Game 2
3rd/4th Grade
11:00 Game 1
12:15 Game 2
5th/6th Grade
1:30 Game 1
2:45 Game 2
One of the benefits to having 6 to 7 games per stadium on one Saturday is to allow each town the chance to earn revenue from gate fees and concession to cover season expenses. If you are a parent of multiple aged players and expect to be at the stadium throughout the day, each stadium allows canopies and umbrellas in the stands to keep you shaded during the summer sun. You can bring your cooler with snacks and drinks to get you through the day but all teams appreciate the purchase of products from the concession to help raise additional revenue to cover game day expenses and season expenses.
Gate Admission:
$4 per adult
$2 per child/student
Youth Football and Cheerleading organizations are privately owned and operated and are not part of any ISD sponsored programs so student ID cards or similar discount cards do not apply to these events.
League Practice Schedule Rules
Monday, Tuesday and Thursdays 6pm to 8pm starting no earlier than August 1st.
These three nights are the only sanctioned practice nights which mean any other practices scheduled are strictly voluntary.
