Game 26 vs South End Astros

Knights can't overcome errors against Astros

ROXBURY, MA...JIM RICE FIELD.......The Knights could not over come errors once again and handed over another victory to The South End Astros. Things looked good early for the Knights and then things went downhill....quickly. The Knights were short staffed in this one as their manager Eric Bellavia had to start in this one. Players were out of place defensivley and that created more havoc than usual in the field. TJ McAndrew got the start for the Knights and fell apart in the 4th and could not last through 5. The game got called early due to the lights being shut off at 10:45. Eric Bellavia got his first YBL career hit for the Knights as the Knights pounded out 9 hits but once again left runners on all night............Next up for the Knights vs West Roxbury at Ronan..7:30.

Game 27 vs West Roxbury Bluefish

Knights bid to upset Bluefish falls short

DORCHESTER, MA..........The Knights held thier own against the 2 time defending champs and almost shocked the YBL....and themselves. They proved they belong in this league by scrapping together a game that should have been good enough to beat the first place Bluefish. Take away the 5 run 6th and the Knights beat the fish in all facets of the game. Ben McBride kept the fish off balanced all night leaving many players shaking thier heads. The offense left men on base again blowing a bases loaded oppertunity in the 5th. All in all the Knights played much better on this night as they have in the past 2.........Next up vs Medford Maddogs at Playstead Park tomorrow at 3:30.

Game 28 vs Medford Maddogs

Maddogs take bite out of Knights

MEDFORD, MA.........The Knights losing ways continue though the dog days of summer. The Knights continue to drop games at an alarming rate as the story this time was the offense. Kenny Layton got his first start of the season for the Knights and pitched well. In fact he pitched a complete game for the team and only alllowed 3 runs on 4 hits. The defense shined for the Knights but the bats could not get going. The Knights left the bases loaded in the first and did not threaten the rest of the way..............Next up for the Knights vs West Roxbury at Moakley 4:00.

Game 29 vs West Roxbury Bluefish

Bluefish swim away from Knights

SOUTH BOSTON, MA.........After playing with the defending champs on Thursday the Bluefish toyed with the Knights emotions on this afternoon. With the President of the league in attendance the Knights showed why they will not be playing in the postseason this year. Steve Baldassari got the start for the Knights and took a bullet for the team. Already short of arms Baldi took the ball and was hammered for 10 runs in the 1st inning. The defense did not help at all coughing up four errors and making bad all around plays. It was a game that they would not want to remember. The offense did its job collecting 9 hits and scoring 5 runs but all in all did not make a dent in the huge lead Westie built before the Knights had an at bat.............Next up for the Knights vs South End at Eastie 7:30.

Game 30 vs South End Astros

Knights drop home finale to Astros

EAST BOSTON.......On a night when the Knights would have liked to prove a point and win a game they failed to show heart. The Knights dropped thier home finale to a team they felt they should have beat. Starting for the Knights hometown favortie Tim (crazy eights) Antonellis got the start for the team and pithced well. He gave up all 10 runs but only one of them was earned. Antonellis had some hard hit balls but worked out of trouble only to be victimized by poor team defense. All in all Timmy (insert favorite nickname here) Antonellis had a good outing and was the loudest Knight on the field. Said Astros Skipper I could here him cheering all the way over in the shithouse I knew it was him I was wondering what was happening. The offense for the Knights again lacked the big hit as they left 16 men on base. NEXT UP vs Al Thomas the team ...not the man at Healy Field 7:30.
