The Knights traveled to Maplewood to face off against the Bulldogs. Sean Hannon was on the bump for the Knights to match-up against Zack Thompson.
Malden struck right away in the top of the first inning on a double that was smashed to right-centerfield by Englehardt that gave the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead.
Malden scored again in the 2nd on a controversial call that would give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. With 2 outs and a runner at 2nd Brad Tardugno grounded out to 1st base that was called foul by the homeplate umpire. The ball was clearly fair to all involved but gave a second life to Tardugno and he delivered a single to take a 3-0 lead.
The Knights would come back in the bottom of that inning taking advantage of 6 walks by the Bulldogs. The Knights had 2 RBI singles by DiNapoli, Mercado and Connors taking an 8-3 lead that they would not relinquish.
Sean Hannon now joins Kenny Luongo and teammate Branden Eaton in the 5 and 0 club

Game 17: East Boston Knights @ South Boston Saints 7/12/12
The Knights faced off against the Saints in a rematch of Monday's game where the Saints won and took over first place in the Yaz division. Now the Knights look to go into Ronan Park to retake first place in the second game in the week.
This game was a crazy one with the Knights plating 7 runs in the first 2 innings to take a 7-0 lead and looked to roll early. The Saints did not give up though scoring the next 8 runs in the next 4 innings to take an 8-7 lead capped by a go ahead solo shot homerun by Brendan Klaes.
The Knights battled back though in the top of the sixth inning. With 2 outs and a runner on second Matt Rodriguez hit a clutch single that scored Jose Paulino for the tying run. The Knights then scored 5 runs in the top of the 8th to win the game. Branden Eaton took the hill in the 6th and pitched 1 and 2/3 innings for his league leading 6th victory.
Offensively for the Knights, Rodriguez (3-3 4RBI 2SB 1R) and McBride(2-4 1HR 4RBI 1SB 2R) led the way for the home town team.

Game 18: East Boston Knights @ Stoneham Sabres 7/14/12
On Bastille Day, the East Boston Knights on the road again traveled up the Fellsway (or exit 36 off I-93) into Stoneham where they face the Stoneham Sabres, who like the Knights have three games in two days this weekend. Except the Sabres have a three game homestand at Rec Park against the Yaz Division squads. The Knights brought ace Brandon Eaton on the hill who currently lead the YBL in wins and top ten ERA going into today's game. Expecting a pitchers duel on a steamy afternoon, game was scoreless until the 3rd as the Knights strike first scoring two. It was 2-0 until the 7th as the Knights added a couple of insurance runs as they remained in 1st in the Yaz division with a 6-1 win. The duel of Matt Rodriguez and Ben McBride continue to produce as they both had two hits and a run batted in. Far cry from last season on the same field where Juan had a solid outing. This time its small ball that dominated.
