NORTH COAST ATHLETICS - 4
SAN LEANDRO WASHINGTON MANOR DODGERS - 12
The Athletics would travel 4 -1/2 hours on Saturday to the Twin Creeks
Sports Complex in Sunnyvale California to play the Dodgers of San Leandro
in game 1. Eli Duran would start on the mound pitching a good game but
unfortunately the road trip would get the best of the Athletics with their
first 9 of 10 batter would be retired and the defense would commit 11
errors! Matt Freitas and Everett James would single with Steven Young and
Anthony Ruano each earning RBI singles in the fourth inning. Matt Freitas
would hit a 2 run home run with Tomas Sanchez on base, but the A's would
end on the 8-run rule.

James: 2x3, Run
Ruano: 1x2, RBI

OAKLEY FALCONS - 13
NORTH COAST ATHLETICS - 3
The A's would face a hungry Falcon team coming off a tough 5-3 loss vs. the
Marin Tribe. Anthony Ruano would give up 4 hits, BB, 2K, in the first
inning and would be unable to get out of the second with a double play ball
once again mishandled, leaving the bases loaded for Everett James. James
would have great off-speed stuff but with a couple errors the Falcons would
not be stopped. Ruano would hit a solo homerun in the 2nd just as the grand
finale fireworks were going off, and James would follow with a laser 2 run
blast over the center field fence after Freitas singled. Al Huerta would
shut the Falcons down, retiring the side in the 4th and allowing no runs in
the 5th (9BF, 4k, HB, 2 hits)
STATS: James: 2x3, HR, 2RBI's, 1 RUN
Ruano: 1x2, HR, BB, RBI

against a scrappy Tribe team. Ryan Stevens would start on the mound
(1? IP, 7BF, 2SO, BB, 2 HITS, 2 RUNS) and
Eli Duran would relieve (4? IP, 19BF, BB, 4SO, 4 HITS, 2R, 2ER) and

Sanchez would lead the A's hitting a 2nd inning pitch to the fence scoring
the first 2 runs, awakening the bats as the Athletics would use the
momentum, 9-5.

GAME #4
Monday, July 3, 8:00am
SAN LEANDRO DODGERS - 8
NORTH COAST ATHLETICS - 1
Everett James would pitch a good game keeping the Dodgers off balance with
catcher Steven Young working hard chasing James's ball in the dirt, and
feeding James to tag a runner trying to score at the plate early as well as
throwing a runner out at 2nd base. The A's would show signs of fatigue and
could not take advantage of bases loaded and 9 runners left on base. 4
errors would be costly as the A's let the big game slip away. The A's did
not realize they could beat the Dodgers until it was too late. Catcher
Steven Young caught error-free all 4 games as well as being hit 3 times
while batting. Antonio Renteria and Abe Vargas would give him a break on
the bases as a courtesy runner. The Athletics batted and will be working on
playing competitive 7-inning baseball like they are capable of.

Duran: 1x2, 2B
James: 1x3
Stevens: 1x3
Tamborini: 1x3
