2006 Cleveland 4th of July Tournament

FIRST ANNUAL 2006 CLEVELAND, OH
WOOD BAT TOURNAMENT
HOSTED BY THE CLEVELAND DIVISION OF RECREATION &
THE CLEVELAND ADULT BASEBALL LEAGUE
ENTRY FEE: $350.00/ Team includes awards, balls, and umpires.
Make check or money order payable to Muny Basketball Association.

ENTRY DEADLINE: May 15, 2006 or when the maximum of 16 is reached. Teams must have the official entry form and payment to enter the tournament. The tournament committee will not hold or reserve spots.
DATES OF PLAY: Fri. June 30 through Tue. July 4, which will be used only in the event of rain.
FORMAT: 4 Pools of 4 Teams: Play all Teams in your Pool once.
Time Limit for Pool Games: No inning may start after 2 hours & 20 minutes.
Top 2 teams in each pool advance to a Single Elimination Bracket
The tournament Committee reserves the right to shorten the format due to inclement weather.
TIEBREAKERS TO SEED TEAMS INTO THE SINGLE ELIMINATION BRACKET:
1. Head to Head Competition
2. Fewest runs given up in all three pool play games
3. Most runs scored in all three pool play games
4. Run differential among tied teams
5. Blind draw
TIEBREAKERS TO DECLARE A CHAMPION IF THE BRACKET CANNOT BE COMPLETED:
1. Best Won-Lost Record of remaining teams
2. Lowest average runs allowed per game
3. Highest average runs scored per game
DRAWING: Friday, June 23rd time and location to be announced. Each team will blindly select one of 16 ballots. The team that drew #1 will place itself in the Pool Group it desires. If a team does not have a representative at the meeting, it will be placed in the last available spot.
ROSTER: The limit is 21 players and the final roster must be submitted before or at the June 23rd drawing. All players must be 18 years of age or older and MUST produce a Drivers License or State issued photo ID if challenged. Teams using illegal players or players not on the roster will forfeit all games such players appeared in.
RULES: The 2006 Cleveland Adult Baseball League Rules will be used. Each team will receive these modifications of the Official American League Rules. All players must use wood or wood composite bats.
PROTESTS: Teams may protest eligibility at any time during the tournament; however, protests that claim a player is playing under someone else's name must be made before the end of the game. The tournament committee will not recognize protests on umpires judgment or interpretation of the rules.
