Smitty's Tryout Prep Camp
The camp will be run by U13 Smitty’s coach Kelsey McHolm and some of her assistant coaches. Kelsey is a fantastic coach having coached the U13 teams the last two years. She played for Smitty’s for 9 years prior to earning a hockey scholarship to York University where she’s been for the last 6 seasons. Kelsey has been coaching both hockey and softball for the last 3 years and is passionate and very knowledgeable about softball. This is a great opportunity for any Southwest players who are interested in sharpening their skills and possibly trying out for a Smitty’s team.
Smitty’s tryout dates will be in the beginning of September. These dates will be sent out to the league once they have been determined.
Camp times will be determined after registration numbers are in.
Cost is $50 per player
Please send Player name and date of birth to vvccsoftball@gmail.com with CAMP REGISTRATION as the subject line and payment to rachel@halldottersports.ca with the player’s name in the message line.

Coaches Corner
Are you interested in coaching - but don't know where to start? Or what's involved? Please contact any of the league executive or Community Club Convenors for information. Coaching is a fun, and rewarding endeavor - and really doesn't take that much work! But the easiest way to get into it is to start thinking and talking about it NOW! There are resources available to mentor you into the game!
Every year there are teams that struggle with finding someone to step up to coach. Some teams are even forced to fold because they can’t find a coach - and that hurts everyone.
Respect In Sport - Mandatory Requirement for Coaches and Managers
All coaches and indivduals that will assist on the bench are required to take the online course.
