The Bergen County CYO Youth Basketball League

Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey

The Bergen County CYO Basketball League is open to Girls and Boys in grades 3 to 12 who either attend a Catholic School or a Catholic CCD - Religious Education program within the Archdiocese of Newark, New Jersey.

PLEASE NOTE.... we do not sponsor teams, etc.   Local Parishes and schools create CYO teams and then join the CYO Basketball league.   Our program is not like a town Recreation Program where children just "sign up" to play.   Registrations for teams take place at the PARISH or SCHOOL LEVEL. 

The league plays a regular season schedule plus playoffs from December to the end of February with all games played on the weekends at the local parish and schools gyms.  There are separate divisions for both the girls and the boys with the emphasis on having fun while teaching the players the fundamentals of the game.

CYO Grammar School JV – Junior Varsity:
A travel basketball league for girls and boys in grades 5 & 6. There are separate divisions for both the girls and the boys. The season will conclude with Playoffs at the end of February or early March.

CYO Grammar School Varsity:
A travel basketball travel league for girls and boys in grades 7 & 8.

There are separate divisions for both the girls and the boys. The season will conclude with Playoffs at the end of February

CYO High School JV – Junior Varsity:
A travel basketball league for girls & boys in grades 9 &10.  There are separate divisions for both the girls and the boys.

These teams will be made up of student-athletes who are not playing for their High School Freshman, JV or Varsity basketball team. Players in grades 11 & 12 cannot play in the JV division.

The season will conclude with Playoffs at the end of February.

CYO High School Varsity:
A travel basketball league for girls & boys in grades 9, 10, 11 & 12. There are separate divisions for both the girls and the boys.

These teams will be made up of student-athletes who are not playing for their High School Freshman, JV or Varsity basketball team. Any HS grade may play on the Varsity level.  Players must be Catholic (or non-catholic but attend a Catholic HS), must have made or about to make the Sacrament of Confirmation and a member of a Bergen County Parish.

The season will conclude with Playoffs at the end of February.
