Are you dreaming of playing at the NCAA level?

Can't make it live? Register to receive a recording of the webinar.
What is your NCAA ID and why is it important?
Your NCAA ID is the primary way an NCAA school recruiting you adds you to their institutional request list = an IRL
This informs the Eligibility Center of the school’s interest in having an academic and/or amateurism certification decision for you. Be sure to include your NCAA ID every time you correspond with an NCAA coach! Note:
How do you know if you're being "actively recruited"?
You’re being actively recruited if an NCAA coach:
Calls
Texts
Emails
Messages via Social Media
Visits Your High School
Pays Expenses to Visit Campus
Issues Athletics Aid
Writes Offer of Financial Aid
Recruiting can begin as early as ninth grade. However, in most cases, recruiting starts in eleventh grade. If you’re being actively recruited by an NCAA Division I or II school, create a certification account.at the NCAAEligibilityCenter.org
Ask a Former Student-Athlete
Former Georgia Southwestern State softball player Natalia Herrera says most of her life lessons can be traced to her family's restaurant, Viva Mexico.
She learned her work ethic from the long hours spent opening and closing the restaurant. She learned integrity from assisting customers and staff. She learned resilience from watching her parents navigate through both the tough times and the success. These times spent with her parents in the restaurant and with other family members have set the values that Herrera took to her softball career.
Two transformative years after high school, Herrera and two of her teammates transferred from Georgia Highlands to Georgia Southwestern to play three more years. Herrera said attending a smaller Division II school offered her opportunities she felt she might not have received at a bigger school. Click here to read more of her story.
Sport Science Institute: Sleep and Wellness
Sleep matters for athletes, whether high school or collegiate athletes. Poor sleep is associated with decreased athletic and academic performance, may increase injury risk, delay recovery time and may increase risk for mental health symptoms. For more information on how much sleep you should have, click here.
The NCAA Sport Science Institute is a leader in providing health and safety resources to college athletes, coaches, athletics administrators and campus partners.
