Clackamas Wrestling Club
“Home of future High School Stars”

It’s Time for Wrestling Season!

*Wrestling is a great sport that allows everyone to participate regardless of size, height, weight, ability, or experience. Wrestlers compete against other kids within a year of their age and 5 pounds of their weight. All wrestlers will get as much competition as they want.

*Competitions for both beginning and advanced wrestlers will typically fall on the same days as we practice (Monday or Wednesday). For wrestlers seeking more competition, there will be opportunities to wrestle on Saturdays as well.

*You are not required to participate in tournaments to be part of the wrestling club.

Regular Season Dates

Beginning wrestler season runs from October 24th – December 14th

Advanced wrestler season runs from October 24th – January 25th (Kids State will be January 27-29th)

Frequently Asked Questions

1.     Club Cost: 65.00

a.     Please make checks payable to “Clackamas High School Wrestling”

2.     Do I need to stay for practices.

a.     No, as someone who has kids in other sports, I always appreciate when I can run a few errands. I am always here before practice starts, and will stay until all the kids are finished.

b.     If you do leave, please arrive at least 10 minutes before the end of practice, which would be 6:50 for beginners, and 7:20 for advanced.

3.     How do I know if my wrestler is beginning or advanced?

a.     An easy way is age. We typically divide the room by age, 4th graders and up with the advanced kids, and 3rd and below with the beginners. We are always fine, however, with a wrestler moving up or down if it seems appropriate to do so.

4.     Can I compete in tournaments this year?

a.     Yes, you can. You would need an additional USA Insurance Card to do so (51.00). We will give out information for both open and weekday tournaments at the beginning of the week.  You would need to contact Coach Wullbrandt early in the week to get on his list, and to make sure that you are registered. There is no additional cost to compete at the weekday tournaments, there is a cost for the open tournaments.

b.     We have scheduled several free matches (that you do not need a USA card for), at

This should be a fun way to get some matches, and a great way to see what a dual meet looks like.

5.     Do I have to compete in tournaments this year?

a.     No you do not. In fact, often times parents and athletes find that a year of learning helps ease the wrestler into the sport.

6.     How do I compete in tournaments this year? Do I need any additional items?

a.     Sign up with Coach Wullbrandt

b.     Get a USA Insurance card (additional cost)

a.     The season runs from October to December (finishing at Winter Break).

8.     Can I compete with the advanced club after the beginner season is over? Does it cost any additional money?

a.     Yes. After Winter Break, all wrestlers are welcome to practice with the advanced wrestlers. There is no additional cost.

9.     Can I “graduate” to the advanced practices if I am looking for additional challenges? Does it cost more?

a.     Yes, if the coaches feel like it would be beneficial to move to the advanced practices, then that would be fine. There is no additional cost.

10. What gear do I need to participate?

a.     For practice: Shorts, t-shirts, wrestling shoes (socks ok)
